First convention of Transformers in Costa Rica, on November 1 and 2. New proposals and some impressive models will be made at the Museum of Children in San Jose, for two days. The event culminated with an excellent concert.

Hi guys. Just wanted to share more information about this convention.

 

Thanks to a Transformers fan group, on November 1st and 2nd 2008, Costa Rica will have the first Transformers convention event ever.

 

This event is called "Ticobot", because we costaricans are called "Ticos".

 

There will be a lot of activities including:

• Transformers toys exhibition (more than 1,000 of toys together)
  
• Movies and animated series projections
  
• Drawing contest
  
• Build your transformers and robots with legos (for children)
  
• Mud masks workshop
  
• Trivias
  
• Real transformers-related cars exhibition
  
• Talks
  
• A show with the rock band Tres16, playing Transformers-related songs and 80s cartoon themes.
  
• Styrofoam models
  
• Dealers area
  

 

The event will take place in at the Museo de los Niños, a place with a lot of space and facilities.

 

We already have the support from Hasbro for the event and some others local sponsors.

This week, the main media in Costa Rica have published several notes about Ticobot.

 

For example, Diario La Extra, a daily newspaper, published half a page about the event. Although the picture they included shows some Go-Bots, the Transformers are in the right section of it.

Also, one of the most important TV Stations in the country, broadcasted a note about the convention. Obviously in spanish.
