Chuck's Reviews Transformers Generations Jhiaxus

07 Oct 2015

Posted by chuckdawg1999 in Transformers Reviews

I have no idea who this character is, but I think they come from the G2 comics. The toy is a remold of Armada Starscream, but with enough new tooling to stand apart from that figure. If you happened to pass on Jhiaxus a few years ago, it's worth a second look.

Collector Interview 41 for TFSource - Duron Land

04 Oct 2015

Posted by Maz in Transformers Toy Discussion
I have only recently had the pleasure of making Duron Land’s acquaintance, but in that short time he has proved himself to be a knowledgeable and well-connected collector, as well as another example of the good people we have in the community. Not only does he host the very popular TFYLP podcast, but he’s also an expert photographer and has become a regular supporter of the TFSource blog and related articles. I’ve had the honour of appearing on the TFYLP podcast, so it was only fitting that Duron lend his experience, knowledge and expertly curated Transformers collection to the Source Blog.
All the best

Combiner Wars Galvatron

01 Oct 2015

Posted by autobotx23 in Custom Repaints and Kitbashes

As soon as I saw the Combiner Wars Megatron figure I knew he would also
make an impressive Galvatron. Throw in some 3D Printed parts and the legendarily poseable KFC hands and BOOM, Galvatron is born!

The replacement head, chest, cannon cover and knee pads were 3D printed and the KFC hands were modified to work with the existing hand posts.  Painted with a semi-metallic Grape Pearl.

Up on the 'Bay. Enjoy!

G1 US/UK non-Marvel extra episodes

Non-Marvel #78.5 - The Last Quest

The Transformers: Seeds Of Deception and Transformers: The Lost Seasons projects present the final act of Non-Marvel 78.5: The Last Quest.

On an apparently dying Cybertron, wrapped in a “nuclear” winter caused by the aftershocks of Unicron’s defeat, two unlikely allies travel to find the key to the planet’s salvation.
They are the not-yet ActionMasters known as Rollout and Charger… an Autobot and a Decepticon!

In Act 2, their quest finally leads them to a lost temple whose architecture looks quite familiar. And an even more familiar face is waiting for them–but wasn’t HE supposed to be dead?

This 11-pages story takes place between G1 Marvel US #78 and #79, filling some gaps left by the rushed conclusion of the original series. More “behind the scenes” in the commentary to each page: check them out to learn how Simon Furman’s work is at the base of this extra issue!

Chuck's Reviews Transformers Generations Goldfire and...

29 Sep 2015

Posted by chuckdawg1999 in Transformers Reviews

Goldfire and Nightbeat are two repaints from a meh, mold. I'll freely admit right off the bat, that the leg panels are better on both than on Bumblebee. I'll also admit that I think the HFTD Jazz mold would've worked better for Nightbeat. I'm sure these figures are floating around out there somewhere, so if you're interested pick them up.
