what character is purple? or is it a stand-in for CG?

If we're using G1 as a reference it may be Shockwave.
Then again Bay and co. have made it clear that G1 colour schemes will be ditched if they don't work in a RL setting, so who knows?

Well how purple? We talking neon, or almost blue kinda purple? Sure it wasn't blue with a slight hue of purple through it from a large amount of light exposure? Just curious is all.

It's a completely plausible option, IMO, but I wouldn't necessarily bet money on it being the case.

I semi-agree with you on the Ravage part, as that was my immediate thought when I first saw that thing.
