Now if I just had 3 large to drop on a Blu-ray player. Meh, I'll spend the cash on my toys for now and enjoy the last release of Akira for the time being.

As much as I love the movie, I'll pas on the BR. I already have the digitally mastered one: http://www.amazon.com/Akira-Mitsuo-Iwata/dp/B00005JG6Q Thats good enough for me. It looks good now as it was then, but I kind of wish they would update the movie with today's look of anime with cg elements, like how Evangelion was updated (Rebuild of Evangelion).

Yenno, like in Macross Zero/Frontier or Gundam Seed/Destiny, where there is a mix of CG to the cartoon.

Or what they're doing with Ghost In the Shell 2.0? http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-...-video-streamed http://news.pia.jp/pia/news_image.do?newsC...0&imageCd=1 & http://news.pia.jp/pia/news_image.do?newsC...0&imageCd=2

OR, how about they don't f*ck with Akira at all since the movie is perfection and you shouldn't f*ck with art in the first place GAAAARRRHHH skeletor.png

agree.gif , too. I was just giving GiTS 2.0 as an example. I couldn't imagine Akira working as a "2.0-ish" update. Remastering it a few years back, and that's all it needed. That's about all they should do to it.

Though, if they would want to do a new OVA or TV series with all the things left out from the manga.. scratchchinhmm.gif
