Mortgage fallout, bank seizures and tight credit lending... oh my. These and other factors contributed to the worst car sales month since 1991. Ford led the domestic meltdown with a 34% decline in sales, with Chrysler losing 33%. Even the Japanese, who have held their own this year, took a beating (Toyota -32%, Honda -24%, Nissan -37%). GM was the best performer at a 16% decline, which was mostly contributed to their employee sales drive.
