Shatner Blasts Trek's Abrams
Original Star Trek star William Shatner posted a video on YouTube.com blasting J.J. Abrams, who is helming a reboot of the franchise.
Shatner, as is well known, does not appear in the new movie. In the video, below, Shatner disputes why.

[shatner]I should be in the movie, I made Star Trek, ME! it's all about ME! It shouldn't matter that my character was already killed off by the time the future events in the film actually happen. I'M STILL RELEVANT!!!!!

Hey, he seems to be doing alright being self-deprecating in Expedia and World of Warcraft commercials. Right?

I guess I'd be mad too

If they included Shatner they'd have to retcon a reason why he's so damn fat now.

Side effects of travelling to the centre of the galaxy in three days on a ship incapable of doing so.
Reverberating through the time line.
Or something.

A small part of me thinks this could all be a giant ruse to actually allow us all to be surprised when he pops up in the movie.

Major Spoiler Alert!!!
The whole movie is about Spock reminiscing about the early years of meeting Kirk. Then finally in the end we see Spock and some doctors and droids lift up some kind of a container, it opens up and there he is James T Kirk. He stumbles out of the container and sees himself in the mirror and yells NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

That'd be way better than "Nemesis" too.
