Shareholders of Longs Drugs are obviously not happy with the bid provided by CVS Caremark last month. One of the major shareholders has announced that there are 4 other suitors interested in the west coast pharmacy chain. Walgreens has now entered the bidding wars, offering a 10% premium on CVS' original bid. Shareholders were disappointed in CVS no accurately valuating Longs' real estate holdings and complained that CVS' offer was too low. CVS has said they are not interested in a bidding war, but were seen trying to top Walgreen's offer.
