Hewlett Packard has laid down a number of layoffs to be expected following their acquisition of Electronic Data Services: 24,600 over the next 36mos. HP bought EDS to make a challenge against rival IBM in the field of business infrastructure. The number represents 7.5% of the total workforce. The majority of the layoffs will affect EDS workers, and a majority of those layoffs will be for US employees.
