Well, there two Leader I want to buy but with my money I can only buy 1. Between Leader Animated Megatron ($49,99) and Deep Desert Brawl ($59,99).
I like Brawl mold a lot and I really like the repaint of it. But in Canada, he is very rare. TRU just received them this week and 2 days ago there already just 2 of them in the shelve.
Since I never had a mold of Animated Megatron, I was wondering if he has balance problems? When I look at him, I always see all the stuff on his back to make him fall and give a hard time to make him stand correctly.
And does his arms and shoulders have a lot of articulations? Because his shoulders' height is similar to Armada Megatron and because of that you could only move the arms forward or backward but not sideway. Something like this l_O_l.
Megatron is also rare, I only found 1 in all the shops I visited but he been on the shelve for quite a while.

I guess i depends what you're looking for more in a toy, stylin' or playability. Anyways, for the money I'll just get Megs 'cuz he is just one of the coolest Megs to come since G2 imo.

Animated Megs is one of the best Megs of all time IMO.
If anyone want's to give me a Desert Brawl, I'll take it... I need a wedge to prop up my animated display case with.

i'd go with megs, and he's on clearance now at walmart around here for $25. i forgot how much the clearance price for brawl is but i'm sure it's about the same.

It depends, are you looking for something that looks cool, or are you looking for something with an involved transformation.
Animated Megatron looks real cool, and is probably one of the best Megatrons ever with cool weapons, but you can transform him in about 20 seconds, give him his weapons, make him speak, thats about it.
Leader Brawl, is a friggin giant in both modes, with a very challanging transformation. Lots of details, lots of switches, springs, flipping around parts, telescopic weapons, break off parts for that battle damage goodness(that go back easy), and thats about it as the lights and sounds are nothing to great.
As far as character representation goes, I realy like Leader Megatron, but he'll be on the shelf for a while. As far as an in depth Transformer goes that'll keep you busy for a while with alot of extras, Leader Brawl, plus his run is nearly through, so I'd get him befor he's gone

They're both great toys, but in your place I'd have to go w/ Brawl. As you said, he appears to be rare around you, and will only get harder to find as time goes on. The Animated line, on the other hand, is still in its prime and should be around for some time to come, I'm sure.
Brawl has a tricky but rewarding transformation, and his robot mode is just awesome. Great little details throughout, and good sound effects too. Good luck and enjoy!

My vote goes to Brawl!
I have the green one and hes all sorts of awesome.
Just wanted to mention that Leader Megatron has no stability issues. Even mounting the swords on the back, won't even budge him ^^

Both I would guess are awesome.
If money isn't an option go with Brawl and grab Megatron later. Should be around for a long long while yet.
I don't have either but Brawl looks awesome and is probably the best LC of the movie line. I really really wanted the green Brawl but never had the funds to grab him off the shelf.

I got over it though.
Unless Megatron/Brawl clearence at Walmart eventually I'd have to say the movie line is dead to me and the next LC I purchase will be either Megatron or Bulkhead.
Interesting how both are 40 bucks Stateside and in Canada there's a ten dollar difference. Must be the size of the box. It must've thrown off the retailers.

Thanks everyone, I think I will buy Desert Brawl since even the Toy Store who manage to have Takara's TF toys or Exclusives, never had Desert Brawl. I probably going to buy it next Monday, hopefully the one I hide is still there. Hidden it behind some Star Wars box... >_>
And buy Megatron later if he still there.

I just bought Megatron. He is great! He is kinda small for a Leader... I went to Toy R Us for Desert Brawl and the guy told they will receive more of him. Just in case, I picked the one I wanted and hidden it in Barbie's section.
But because of Megatron, I had interest for Ultra Magnus because they seem similar and he is really armed. But I am not sure when is going to be released in Canada, Quebec... :S There a shop who has it but for $65... while in retail they sell Leaders for $49,99...

I actually did a size comparison between Universe Ultra Onslaught, Movie Leader Prime, and Animated Leader Megs. And Megs only barely stands taller than Onslaught (the tips of Onslaught's cannons actually stand slightly taller than Megatron at full height!), who's $10-15 cheaper. Doesn't bother me for any reason but the price, it's one of the best Megatrons to date.
And as for Magnus, I don't think it's out in the majority of places up here, at least not in Alberta, but that may be because the first two leaders aren't moving very well.

if either were on clearance for $24 and I had a choice, Brawl in an instant! regular, or desert repaint, but most likely the original I would hope to be on sale.
