Has anyone figured out Universe Galvatron's intended but hidden third mode. It's obviously built in considering the little feet that the instructions tell you to flip out somewhat on the back units.
I picked up the figure today (alongside Blaster). Aside from the glaringly obviousness that it was intended to be a Voyager sized mold, he's still pretty awesome.

If others are transforming it as I do, then pics aren't needed for Galvy's third mode. The toy stays in tank mode. The feet get flipped out into position at the rear of the tank. The turret is then turned around and there you have it, a stationary artillery piece that stands on an angle.

A picture would help though. I only saw this figure once and instead of getting it, I passed it to a kid who actualy knew who Galvatron was.
I wouldn't mind seeing a preview though, is it similar to his origional cannon mode?
MikePrime

It's not like the original's cannon. It's just as I described it, the tank mode with two feet that raise up the rear of the tank.

such a shame he isn't a voyager, it would probably have helped solve a lot of problems he has.

The toy was crap, but the animation model wasn't bad.

And really, it made a lot of sense. Megatron was a gun. Megatron's upgrade is... a bigger, futuristic gun. I always liked that about Megatron. His alt-mode was purely about power, and dealing damage, even if he had to completely give up something to do it. Very fitting, no? I still think an artillery emplacement would be an ideal alt-mode for Megatron.

Conceptually it makes perfect sense. It just never did it for me I guess

I rather have Galvy as some sort of space tank or space cruiser.

Agreed. I would rather have him be this then a tank in the live-action movie series, if he has to take an Earth mode.

So pretty much the same thing as Megs except he doesn't magic shrinky then
I kinda thought galvatron had a cooler pew pew noise in the show.. other than that, I didn't really care too much for the character one way or the other..
3rd mode is pretty silly. I just had this image of him rolling down the street, crushing cars like movie Brawlistator and like busts one of his treads.. and these little legs pop out and he just kind of walks off casually.

I actually have a G1 Galvatron but no Classics 2.0 to compare.
G1 IMO was nice novelty toy but not much else.
Classics 2.0 has a much better aesthetic overall but sadly the execution is pretty crap.
I think the Energon incarnation was best and I don't even have the purple colored one.
Agent Zero
Aug 27 2008, 03:59 PM
The perfect purple Energon version doesn't exist. Hasbro's got the deco right, but used the larger (Leader ?) version of the mould, which was to big for the figure.
TT's version used the smaller mould, but f'ed up the deco. Purple on purple

s, random powder blue highlights, it's a mess.
Hasbro would have done a better job releasing the smaller version of the mould in a G1 purple deco rather then giving us this underwhelming chunk of plastic.
Of all the versions of Energon Megs/Galvy, the best to use as Galvatron is, IMO, the TRU Megatron.

Actually, considering it's be really wierd considering how outdated it'd be for Blaster to be what he was in 1985, and many people use Cybertron Soundwave for the Classics version. So it more or less makes sense to use that mold for a Classics Blaster. They painted him up like Blaster, even added his split visor from the comic and toy (it wasn't in the cartoon). And it works well. I picked him up and haven't regreted it.
However, to each his own.

I always saw him as a space gun. The mass shift superpower/special ability being used for re-entry especially useful for supprising leaders of the Autobot resistance, as a huge fireball flying down might be obviously a true threat but a small streak could be mistaken for a peice of shrapnell. The sheer terror of seeing it stop feet infront of you fire at you crippling you and turn into Megatron/Galvatron

well, you can flip out those pieces and the regular feet while in tank mode, and make a 'stealth tank' where he can tippy-toe around the battlefield... lol! *cues looney toons tiptoe sound*
Otherwise I think you can just flip out those pieces, turn the turret around, and have a somewhat howitzer mode, or at least make him be able to aim upwards.
