I personally loved the 2007 movie line. It got me back into transformers and turned me into a total plastic crack addict. The transformations are complex, and I suffered no QC issues in any of my figures. I only collect Figures that actually appear in any given series but the movie line had several that I thought about buying that did not appear. Just curious as to what you all hope changes or stays the same in the movie 2.0 line.

This is P-C. There's a way.
Pros I want to see stick around:
* The realistic, licensed vehicle modes.
* The as-feasible-as-possible scale of the major characters. It's hard to get a group shot, but I don't think there are any two characters that appeared in the film that could be put next to each other and not be in relative scale (Frenzy excluded).
* The appearance of human characters in the line.
* The use of movie-specific Earth vehicles as new transformers.
Things I'd want to see change:
* I want some slightly more accurate versions of the characters from the first film (see other posts for details).
* I want somewhat articulated humans.
* I want Prime's mouth!
* I want less video game drones and comic characters.

I totaly agree with drones and comic characters. The prime mouth could be taken care of look at animated voyager. I just find it hard to believe that some one ewould find no good points of the line. I agree that some more accuarte versions would be nice. first of all most of the premiums should have been the first releases.

Pros:
Realistic licensed vehicles, of course.
Bring back the Real Gears. They were fantastic.
Turning movie vehicles into toys (Longarm, Landmine, Stockade). Wonderful.
Automorph was as unobtrusive a gimmick as they've had for the past while, and it worked pretty well.
Cons:
GIVE US SOME WEAPONS. A lot of the movie bots felt horribly underarmed, particularly the Decepticons. Barricade had only his incredibly lame punching gimmick. Blackout was incredibly heavily armed in the movie, but his toy... awkwardly held his rotor. Handheld weapons are ideal, buy wrist or forearm-mounted weapons work as well. But something, anything. Real gears, too. G1 Soundwave managed to have two guns, after all.
Give us the Premium versions first. Please. It's silly we need to wait and rebuy the same toys a year later.
The Legends-class... kinda sucked. Until the two-packs came out. The new ones were quite good... but we had to buy an existing, incredibly crappy toy to get the good one. That's clever, Hasbro, but frustrating. And ultimately I would have bought a lot more Legends if I didn't have to shell out for two.

The toys could stand to be better, especially the deluxe class. Concept Camaro Bumblebee and Brawl were the best out all of the deluxe toys. Brawl did have the shoulder problem, but the toy itself does look good. Jazz and Barricade were a disgrace and '76 Camaro BB had a design flaw.
There certainly needs to be a better Starscream. Those missile pod arms really spoiled the jet mode and made the worst G1 jet look good by comparison.
Any new movie toys need to have as much paint detailing as possible the first time around. I didn't even bother buying the premium toys after I bought the originals. If I had it's like saying to Hasbro, "It's okay to do this."

just kind of funny that with any other series Prime having a mouth was a call to arms. Now we miss it lol..

Well, yeah, because a Prime with a mouth in any other series wouldn't make any sense. The movie established Optimus Prime as having a mouth, so a toy with that is acceptable.

Bruce Campbell Prime in

looks awesome with a mouth.
I hope the TF2 line includes a Megatron/Insert-main-villian-here leader sized toy that can actually be posed. And a Starscream with hands.

first off: Starscream...I know he's coming back and I'm sure there might be another jet bot somewhere. Movie starscream was the worst jet bot ever made. It was oversaturated with some crappy gun gimmick that took away from the toys jet mode. A lot of care and attention to detail was done on the car modes but frakk when it came to a plane, a point where this line could have really shined, the alt-mode plane for starscream was a mess: the undercarage was poorly done, the back end had no real exhaust/jet detail to speak of. Landing gear?, where was the landing gear? a simple feature on even $10 deluxe transformers and this thing is a $20 voyager! and the plane, normally in real life known for it's sleek design, looked like a sad obesity case for fighter planes...I mean really could this thing get off of the ground?
You compare this plane to that of Animated starscream, there are a lot of similarities in the animated toy and the actual F22 raptor. The transformation in the animated version was well executed.
I love jet bots, and I am sad to say I could not add movie starscream to my collection. I really hope the designers see how they could easly improve on starscream in the future version of him for part 2.
Let's put it this way, the original movie starscream is so bad that the fans deserve a special edition redo of the whole toy done right!
Everything else about the line including the drones and off characters were great!
Oh I almost forgot, Dreadwing: ah guys thrusters do not become hands and the skinny mid sections do not become skinny ass legs...and again where's the landing gear???
I swear, if it had wings and flew, it got screwed in the movie line!

Actually, i thought that the non-movie figures (Landmine, Longarm) felt the most like robots and not like some metal alien insects. I would want the automorph to be discontinued -- it took away (Ironhide & Ratchet's feet) more often than it added (08 bumblebee)

Positives: More realistic vehicles, especially off-the-wall kinds like the V-22 Ospray.
Negatives: More robots that don't look like walking piles of auto parts.

I wouldn't change a thing. I didn't collect any of them other than G1 Jazz and I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't need another line to collect.

I actually like the Starscream toy overall. It's not a sleek jet mode but I still like it, and I think the robot mode and transformation are well done.
I love the automorph feature. It's a nice little gimmick that doesn't take away from the overall transformation. It is usually applied in clever ways.
I prefer the movie TF look over all the animated ones. These ones actually look like aliens as opposed to humans with silver skin.
As far as them looking like walking piles of auto parts, the same can be said of the original TFs. It's just that those auto parts were a lot bigger.
It's a great line, but there's always room for improvement. For example, Jazz's arms are dreadful.

Hands on Starscream. Hands on Starscream. Hands on Starscream.
Ok. Now that I've got that out of my system.
The automorph feature was a welcome addition on some figures (it would have been real awkward to crack open that casing for Leader Prime, so his head being an automorph was great). An okay feature on a majority of them. And downright awful on a few (looks at Blackout).
The vehicle modes, with the exception of Starscream and the obvious one exception of Megatron, were incredibly realistic. Sans the obvious seams, if these suckers were real...
A little better execution on a few points, Jazz's arms need some work come to mind. Barricade needs a decent weapon second time around.
As for the Premium figures, if they're going to do this right for the second movie, do it right the first time and don't release special more movie accurate editions of the figures a year later.

I REALY loved this line it got me into collecting!!! I say all the toys were good i dotn hate a single one.. but I do see what you guys are saying. Starscream didtn have hands and the jet mode was fat but.. he wasnt a bad figure. and a figure that people hated.. movie leader megatron. I still dont get why people hate him yes the alt mode is " eh" but he robot is 100% bad-A$$, he looks so

. The automorph was a very nice touch becuase it added to the transformation to make it more like the movie. plus i agree that the tf's needed more weapons because they barely had any!!!! for tf2 i hoep that they have a leaderclass: optimus, megatron, the fallen, and starscream.

I bought premium megatron back in june. i must say he was really well done. They worked out some of the kinks in the older one. like the problem with the knee springs.

they should release the premium figures straight away at a higher price point - i'd pay 25% to 50% more for them no problem but sod buying them twice
also, rough scale (give us at least ONE SET to make movie scenes with!!!)

After reading all the Pro's/Con's of the previous posters, they pretty much said what I would in spades.
Put the automorph where it needs be, the leader/premium classes, let the small bots have the regular by hand transformation. If you bring back jazz, REAL HANDS PLZ, K, THX. All the deluxe class figs coming up should take a hint from the concept Bumblebee & Cliffjumper Camaro's, those two IMO were the saving grace of the entire freakin' line. Everything else was either too plastic-y, too goofy, or had bad designs/crappy QC.
Oh, and if someone winds up frozen in ice again, please make it where you can remove the fake ice from the bot, that was the deal breaker for me anytime I laid eyes on Meg's, regardless of size. Pure Suck-tastic! (Yes I know they made one w/o the ice, but I was already fed up with him by then)
Ya know, a leader class Blackout could have been cool though now that I think about it.

As much as I loved the movie, I only bought a few figures. And the majority were characters that were not even in the film!
Longarm is an awesome figure! I would buy a repaint in a heartbeat! Grimlock?
Landmine is an incredible figure! Such detail and simplicity. All in one! Hound?
Wreckage was good and had one of the coolest evil faces! Repaint it and I'll buy one... Striker?
Robovision Voyager Prime was the BEST Prime of the line! Oh, I bought Pemium Leader Prime.
I had to. It's Prime... And he's painted with silver...
Deluxe Premium Bumblebee is the best Deluxe figure. And the helmet is perfect!
And Premium Ironhide is the best Voyager. The paintjob rivals the original ten times over...
I agree about limiting the "automorph" to sizes classes larger than Deluxe. Leaders can handle it. But anything smaller can get kinda silly...
This line is good. Bumblebee should pave the way into the future of Deluxe class figures. Look at Alternity... Now there's a step in the right direction...
Come on Takara Tomy and Hasbro. Let's do it right this time... We're out here waiting!

The execution wasn't perfect, but it was awesome to have a return of non-vehicular TFs. And some of them really were awesome.

Can we have a little more variety in models this next line? The first movie line had repaints out the ass. While some were good, most of them were just butt ugly. I got tired of seeing them somewhere around December 2007.
Also, less

in the actual models please.
