Ever notice Spike and Daniel get Exosuits, and Jessica from Return of OP gets bionic legs, but the Autobots leave Chip Chase to wheel himself around?

Lord Madhammer
In 2005, Chip Chase had a sweet hover-chair. But nobody ever saw it because he was guarding the base with Snarl.

Yeah, I think it was just that Chip never showed up in any episodes that took place in the future (which is now our past...Shrug.gif).

I still love it when people say "I want a G1 story, but in the modern era!" .. and I pretty much say "So, Season 3 then, right?" laughlol.gif

Not to say I wouldn't mind if they threw out Unicron, the matrix, rodimus, galvatron and all that other gheyness ..

Now that you mention it, I'm kind of glad that we never saw Chip in a high-collared Future Outfit with a big "C" on it.

He wasn't guarding the base. He started his own fast food chain.

The problem is this, Cybertronian Tech couldn't have advanced comparatively much in the 20 years between shows, especially in cybernetics. I mean this is a multimillion year old civilization of spacefareing robots.

When Jessica in Return of OP gets squished, they have her on her feet so fast nobody had time to tell her genocidal father. Chip was rolling around in Wheeljacks workshop for Primus' sake. Nobody thought to ask.

"Want some Legs, Chip?"

Well, I assume the "Autobot X" incident put them off human/Cybertronian tech intermingling for a number of years, until, oh, I don't know, Blades or someone showed up and could perfect it.

Oh, you guys are serious...

All right then, here I go:

The Autobots were naturally reluctant to share their technology with humanity at first, given that they knew little about Earth or human culture or history. Learning more about this did nothing to allay their concerns. However, in the intervening years between 1985 and 2005, the presence of the Autobots led to a significant reduction in worldwide conflict, giving rise to the Earth Defense Command. This global military force was then entrusted with Cybertronian technology, as the Autobots and humans increasingly worked in tandem to provide security for the entire planet. Over time, certain elements of this technology were sold or licensed to private corporations, for use in medical or commercial applications. Unfortunately, by the time such technology became available to the public, Chip Chase had died in a horrible computing accident.

Future (now Past) Coroner: Death by masturbation, what a horrible way to go.

Future (now Past) Coroner: I suppose not.

Yeah it must have gone over his head since Snarl wasn't in the G1 '86 movie which was supposed to be occurring in the year 2005. I got it but must not have.

A multimillion year old civilisation of spacefaring robots who had had very little contact with biological organisms at that point. It probably took them 20 years to adapt their technology to work on humans.

Yeah that's why they weren't sure what would happen if they put Spike into the body of Autobot-X., although I'll bet the Cybertronian cybernetics on Dr Archevil might of been a huge first step in understanding the combination of man and machine. Megs was always more of a scientist than anyone ever gave him credit for.
