....I wonder if their will be a "smokey" Prowl or Bulkhead

they look good for basics but the whole same character in different sizes is growing old to me but then again if it were not for the money Hasbro would not do it
ReverendNash
Me thinks Grimlock will be mine, alog with Megatron and Prime.

Bandito...

Hey, Grimlock and Megatron actually look pretty decent. thumbsup1.gif

I had written Activators off the list, but after seeing this Megatron, I just might have to pick up him and Prime and put them on my shelf here in the office. Both of them really look like a lot of fun, and their smaller size lets them bring character to the office while not being too distracting.

I am 'meh' on Activator Starscream but really like Activators Bumblebee (once I sharpied his hands.)

I may get Megs, just so I have an earth mode version. But I'm more likely to get a passed up deluxe (TankOctane or Oil Slik) before I get Grimlock. He looks good, I just already have the voyager version.

Activators would be better at a cheaper pricepoint, but they can be fun. Give em a chance. smiletf.gif

I'm happy some one else got the reference

Where's Burt Reynolds when you need him?

Megs looks less impressive than he did at SDCC... I think seeing his face ruins him for me. Might get him anyway.

Grimlock, however, is epic win. He seems to be more posable than his Voyager figure, with articulated dino arms, jointed robot shoulders (so he can get a range of motion more than the equivalent of a peg), and since his forearms are on a ball joint, that opens up a lot of new possibilities.

I'm majorly psyched. Any release date set?

You just had to type that didn't you? Now I can't get the dang song out of my head! *off to youtube*

Oh, and: Am I the only one who read the title on TFormers while simultaniously seeing the lockdown repaint and thought 'NO WAI, BW Grimlock?!' And then I became let down rumblecry.gif

Yeah...that's the worst looking Lockdown so far... thumbsdown.gif

If my memory is correct, the SDCC info cards said they'd be out in Oct.

As for Bandit Lockdown, I was hoping he'd be themed after his Fistful of Energon poncho. icon_sad.gif But, they're keeping up the Cannonball-ish deco theme, which is kind of funny considering the Reprolabels Cannonball-themed decal sheet for deluxe Lockdown.

On Megatron, it looks like they got his paint-scheme mixed up. The darker Gray, that's on his face, should be be on the body, and the lighter Gray should be on the face, if the character artwork is any indication.

You guys that haven't tried Activators, shouldn't knock 'em till you try 'em. These are the most 'fun' of any of the transformers "play wise" imo. HOWEVER, i didn't think so (from the pics i've seen) until i bought a few myself. Now i want all the Activators sans repaints (take seekers of course tounge1.gif )

I love these little guys! I'll definitely pick up Megs and Grimlock.
Liege Evilmus
I haven't gotten any of these yet mainly because of the price point. Follow that closely by the fact that I don't like the look of them so far...

Grimlock and Megatron may change that though. I'm not realy feeling the love for Voyager Grim, but that little guy looks pretty solid. Megatron looks pretty good too.

I was hoping though that instead of just giving us the same characters over again, they would give us somone new. This scale seems perfect for some filler or backround characters. I know they're doing that with CliffJumper, but why stop there, I'd include IronHide and the Seeker Clones as well.

Call it what you will, but it's still the basic/scout class to me rehashing the spring body gimmick from G2 and early Beast Wars.

Not exactly. This is a bit different but i see your point. But in hand they feel more worth the money then behind the bubble packaging. And bumblebee is a prime example on how they are different. I have only SS & BB though so we'll see. The articulation is MUCH better also then G2 or BW basics.

the beast wars basics were like the definition of articulation........so i find it hard to believe.

i'll have to get BB and the grimster. most of the others arent too preat, like screamer and bulkhead.
deceptikhan
Well believe it. BW basics did not have upper thigh swivel, 2 point joints, and or uppe4r arm swivel OR the extended 2 point shoulder or hip system.

Activators Bulkhead really is a military green turd, but Activators Starscream rules. He's much better then the Voyager version, IMO.

The activators seeker mold has a complex little auto transform. Very cool.

His legs don't lock in for alt mode and his head has Prowl syndrome (small and skinny), but I can get over those things in the face of how much I like the auto transform.

But then they did nothing with the arms. For some reason that's a glaring flaw for me, and keeps me from really liking the little guy.

It's one of those things like sideways knee articulation. They did such a nice job and then did pretty much nothing with a big part of the figure. If they'd just hid the arms someway I'd have been fine with it.

I still like the voyager version better. smiletf.gif

Activators Bumblebee is still awesome, though. Even if he does have freaky long arms.

Meh. wheeliebarf.gif

The first couple of waves looked okay, but these don’t do much to impress. And I do like repaints, but I’ve seen way too much of Lockdown. And at eight dollars, these three seem like a big PASS!

I have the feeling that the retail price of the Deluxe-class Animated figures was intended to be more in the $11-12 range, which would have broadened the price differential between Activators and Deluxes, but most retailers for some reason have been hesitant to increase the Deluxe price (since the Activators are a little more of a "new" item, they seemed OK with the pricing them differently than the previous Basic class, which we really haven't had for over two years now).
