So whatever happened to doing just a blow out clearance sale!?!
Outside of around the holidays, and late spring before a new line appears, Transformers rarely go on sale, and I've noticed that only exclusives get a clearance mark down.
Knock a buck or two off the price of the shelf warmers and I bet they'd move. That makes more sense to me than just pulling them down. Collectors love hearing sale. Mom and Dad more often than not are looking for a Transformer with no specific one in mind so chances are they won't care if it's new or not, they'll grab the cheaper one.
I think in my neck of the woods, they do clearance them; however, they fly off the shelves so fast that it's easy to miss them and think they've been pulled.

Could they be pulling them to send back and create those 2 packs that we see occasionally through the year?
I'm pretty sure that Hasbro makes those with stock remaining in their warehouses.
From the reports of people who work the big box stores, my understanding is that merchandise pulled from store shelves is usually tossed in the trash or destroyed.

Leaders are such shelf warmers here. Maybe everyone is broke like me?
Same here, actually. After the initial Movie Leaders sold out the size class has done nothing but shelf warm.
Strangely enough, most of the WalMarts/Targets around here have downsized or eliminated the movie stuff; however, the leaders are still there (I've been hovering over the premium versions of OP and Megs, but only if I can get them on clearance).
