Full Version: Apple Confirms "Kill Switch" Built Into iPhones

Apple CEO Steve Jobs confirmed today what some had suspected: That Apple has a remote system that can remove programs from iPhones. The "switch" is in the form of a hidden URL located within the firmware. This allows Apple to remove any malicious or unauthorized software from the iPhone. While Apple claims that this switch has not been used as of yet, some vendors claim otherwise.

Not surprising, Apple does its best to prevent any mod/hack/crack on it's hardware. I don't hack my s&%t anyways, so it doesn't matter to me.

Heh, right after the iPhone first came out, there was a guy at work who showed me pictures of his grandkids on his - I got the impression he was prouder of the phone.
