No. This design would not have worked. We'd have wound up with a movie version of Energon's Fattimus Prime, short and fat.

Also, it's so...so...Magnus-esque. Too much so to be Prime.

To be honest the only thing I didn't like about movie Optimus was the flames. I kind of understand the reasoning but still I'd of rather seen the something more along the lines of first strike Optimus from the repaint of Voyager class Prime.

those are just versons that bay and co were using for prime I saw those before the live movie came out

Yea everything he said. Imagine Prime like that. It would basically be the toy in the movie which wouldn't be that cool cause we can see a Prime just like that in G1 (just as a cartoon). So yea...

I remember when they shown this is some real time rendering demo along side the legit prime design it was really cool but I don't think I'd want to see this guy rather then the prime we got

I agree he did look fat and more like Magnus in color, what I meant was a cab over design painted red (but done more like the one Rodimus posted) would have been cool. I wasn't much into the one they used in the movie)

But it could have been worse. Could have had Megatron look like this...
