Profile
Exposed to an exotic form of energy, LOCKDOWN goes through remarkable changes. His systems are suddenly super energized so much that the excess power leaks directly through his armor in a fiery glow. Devoted more deeply than ever to tracking and destroying his AUTOBOT prey, he no longer demands payment for his work. Now he hunts simply for the joy of seeing the fear in a victim's eyes.

Galactic Powers & Ability:
Saw designed to cut through most armor

Supercharged sensors detect even cloaked enemies

Heated armor burns or melts whatever it touches
I'm Batman
I like. Now I want to see Prowl w/ sidecar.

I think that those of us who already own the first Lockdown are all in agreement with this statement.

If it fit, it would have fitted inside it within the card. But what we see is, the chainsaw is separated from Lockdown's alt-mode on the package.

Seconded.

Anyway, rather than "Blazing" Lockdown, probably Hasbro should rename him as Falldown. Ya know, his color scheme truely screams "The Fallen".. laughlol.gif

They will never fix the hands...apparently it was meant to be designed that way

I like the name and the idea but... no thanks I was thinking it would be more then just a little clip on.

I don't have the original, and seeing this kinda makes me wanna wait :o
This color combo looks way better, and it looks like the transparant bits are dark red instead of dark pink (kinda).
Yeah, this ones cooler ^^
Starscreamer
well considering I don't have the first one I may just wait and get this guy

That sounds smart. I don't have the regular one yet but still... This one has much more style although reminds me a lot of The Fallen. I wonder if his bio story will really be in the show, maybe season 3? Hmm...

I, personally, am indifferent to this version of Lockdown being put into the show with a bio-accurate origin, I do hope that - in a broader sense - the Animated creators have the "Beast Wars" leverage to not adhere completely to every character's toy incarnations.

I really liked that some characters like Rhinox and Waspinator made it through the series unchanged, even though they had "upgrades" available on the toy shelves. I think it helped the show still feel like "Beast Wars" since there were new characters getting introduced and the "main" characters getting upgraded again and again.

Plus, it made it more fun to get to invent your own story behind Rhinox turning into a Transmetal when you got his toy.

Personally, I'm much more interested in that Swindle figure (on the back of the card)!

Me too! Swindle is a major need for me.

Neat repaint...nice new weapon...but pass. I'm trying to cut back on toys in general, so I most likely won't be going for Animated repaints. One version of each is enough. Times are getting rough, y'know!

Oh, and...yea for Swindle! Can't wait to see more close-ups and the size range/poseability of the toy.

This thing sucks IMO. Bring on his box mates though!

I unfortunately had a little mishap in trying the hand mod for Lockdown, and have yet to replace him. As for this guy, well, I might pick him up just for the chainsaw weapon and nothing more.

BTW, where and when was the chainsaw weapon used? I don't remember quite frankly.

Did it have something to do with a secret love of winter weather?

Rhino-Snowmobile ftw.

[geek]My fan explanation for the random-ness of the Transmetal vehicle bits was that the transwarp beam thingee that hit everyone hit a sort of "reset" button in each Cybertronian's protoform and caused bits of their last scanned vehicle mode to blend with their currently scanned mode. So Rattrap was a kind of dune buggy before scanning the rat, Airrazor was a pontoon equipped aircraft. Waspinator was a special case where his previous possesion by Starscream interfered. Stuff like that.

But, to answer your question, I believe Rhinox attempted to recreate the Transmetal accident, used himself as a guinea pig, and ended up almost dying...and it was only through working along with Waspinator and making use of the residual inextinguishable spark energy left by Starscream he was able to develop a cure.

But then he finally perfected the process every non-show Transmetal character got properly changed.[/geek]

That sounds like an explanation they should've used in the show.

Well, it runs into trouble in the case of Cheetor who was all, "Woah! I'm learning to fly for the first time" but I'm quite certain I had an explanation for that, too...I just don't remember it.

It was used in an episode in season 2, "A fistful of Energon." Lockdown has it attached to this left arm, so the box picture is at least somewhat accurate in that sense.

but we still need Lockdown's poncho. AND A MEXICAN SOMBRERO TO GO WITH IT.

I wonder if he teamed up with Meltdown for this upgrade..

Meh, either way I liked my Lockdown as a Boba Fett .. hunting bots down for no reason just does the character injustice. I wonder if they plan to use the repaints in the show at some point.
Blitz
I think his bio suffers from generic Hasbro syndrome. thus removing any unique characteristics and making him a generic phyco type
