I took inspiration from his movie self. The G1 version is simply too ugly and should never ever see the light of day again. 1st off, he's not a cop. I have one too many cop cars in my collection. 2nd off: no alt mode at this point. I disassembled, painted and touched up today (1 day) so everything needs time to sit. Check back in a week for alt mode pics. This guy was fun to do and I'm really happy with the result. He came out amazing IMO. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Although I agree the bot mode for the movie toy is as appealing as a leper with genital warts, I have to say that he is a police car and is the police car that was shown in the film.

Perhaps you could try:

- converting the original movie toy to have a "classics" style head, arms and legs etc.

- Rename your bot that you repainted as "Dead End" and paint him a bit more to look like this:

Thanks for the idea but, no. This is the way I went with him and this is what I wanted. He may have been a cop car in the movie but he was a missile truck in Energon and a f-1 car in G-1. Because of that I just didn't feel the need to be terribly slavish to his design. I kept his colors and a sporty alt mode and that works for me.

Just to throw it out there, the Engine Accessory could be easily converted to be/hold a light bar, making him a sporty, dark cop car - almost a Nemesis Red Alert. Paint up the doors white with the police logo, and it would be a great melding of Movie and G1 aesthetic...almost a retroactive G1 form of the movie character.

While Barricade has only been a police car in one of the three continuities he's appeared in, the police car from the Movie is by far his most recognizable form. As great as this repaint it, it doesn't say "Barricade" to me.

I agree with the others... really good job with the paint work, but I also think Barricade as a police car is his most recognisable form... police lights, white doors and relevant decals would be nice in addition to this paint job... and as soon as I saw the pics, I automatically thought 'Stunticon'... Wildrider or Dead End perhaps, but I can appreciate where you're coming from.

As far as ideas for alternative names... Night Drive / Nightstreaker / Sundown / Dusk / Darkstreak / Lights Out / Road Venom / Nox / Nightfall / Evenfall

You did a really nice job with the paint job on this. Coverage is really good and the fades in the purple are a nice touch.

I'd say he'd make a pretty decent undercover/vice squad car. Leave him completely black and just add the single dashboard light, or one up on the roof. Could come up with a backstory that plays up his dissapearance from the final movie battle.

"Eclipe" and "Shadowstar" are some good suggestions IMO. Eclipse is winning out with me. that's a good name and a pretty good anti Sunstreaker name to boot.

If you're going new name, I like Eclipse a lot.

And it also just occurred to me that in alt. mode this should look a lot like Bruce Wayne's Lamborghini from TDK (or at least the front end will)...

I got an FC named Eclipse. Hes a cybertronic bomber of sorts

Nice detail work on the 'engine' piece! I saw this this morning and was going to post...but I was inspired and started fidgeting around with my Sunstreaker, and forgot to make a post.

I thought it'd was a rather cool Barricade, but I figured Prowl would work slightly better for him, due to similar body-styles. As an original character, it's still cool. I'm loving all the detail work that keeps popping up.

I was thinking, if the name suggestions are still open, how about something like "Duskrunner"? Also, are we getting a bio soon?

After today I officially decided his name is Eclipse. I likes its! Dunno about a Bio though. I may try to think of something but I don't write much anymore and being that I don't pay attention to much fiction these days (unless it's presented on tv) it might make it a bit difficult. Maybe I'll do a little research since I have an idea in mind.

Not only is Moon kinda feminine, but the fact that an existing fembot is named Moonracer... well...

I always thought Sunstreaker sounded a bit like a nudist.

Anyhow, as for the bio, I know what y'mean HS. Back in Jr. High and High School, I'd be able to come up with a ton of characters and come up with a bio anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. "Oh..he's yadda yadda....he does this...and so on..." and now I'm like "....Uh...He's...uhm..Gimme a minute..." (runs away)

I don't actually follow the non-TV/Movie continuities for TFs either, so I just try and place them however I can.

Like I said, "Dead End". He was a recoloured Sunstreaker in black anyway.
