That would be awesome.

I have this recurring dream where the Dinobots are like the cows in this Far Side strip.

Alone, they sit around talking about particle acceleration and playing chess and stuff. Then the other Autobots come around and they're all "We Dinobots. We dummies." Then the Autobots leave and they go back to talking about Cybertronian economic theory.
Yeah that's about right.

The thing is, Grimlock's portrayals have been so incredibly different across the board. You say that people don't care about his characterization, only about his speech and alt-mode... the thing is, his speech and alt-mode are the only facets of his characterization that have been consistent.
Well, that's not true. He's always been portrayed as having a strong sense of pride... hell, the whole reason that they went after Shockwave was a matter of pride, and he didn't want to have the weak, dying mammalian alt-modes because of pride. So... yeah. I'm sure if they didn't find anything better, they would have accepted them just fine. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of ol' Grimmers, but his IDW appearance isn't bothering me in the slightest.

Except when he's a Cybertronian tank or a Mustang.
But, seriously, the whole problem with the character is that no one has given him sufficient characterization beyond his speech and dino gimmicks, so it's not really possible to drop them, until someone takes the risk to define the character beyond trying to make his 80s 2-dimensional cartoon aspects make sense.

I like characters more that I didn't used to, at least as much. I've never really hated any character, except for possibly Wheelie. At best, it's like, "yeah.. who cares for that character.."
The only things I really hate are reinterpretations or reinventions of characters, especially the more established they are, and contradictory interpretations (the more I learn about the comics continuity and those versions of characters, like Grimlock, the more I dislike such interpretations).

I seem to recall that atleast in the comics, Grimmers only acted like a tard and was actually very cunning and intelligent?
The story arc after Unicron is defeated is a prime example, where Grimlock steals a Decepticon shuttle and hides it because he knows full well that they will betray the peace treaty, leaving the bots stranded on a "dying" Cybertron.
Although the whole "attack first Decepticons you see" bit was none too bright.

I hated the toy because of the big Crotch and the Transformation was not like the Cartoon.
I love him now crotch and all.(That sounds gay huh!)

I haven’t really changed much on how I see anything. For me, I like Transformers about as much as I did yesterday.
Of course, I used to not be big on G1 figures, but now I want them. Even though I have no real sentimental attachment to them and they have no articulation, I’ve slowly become drawn to them.

Just random thoughts... it occured to me today that I f*cking hate Galvatron and Grimlock, who used to be favorites of mine.
And I really like Jazz and Blaster, neither of whom I really cared about back in the day.
This happen to anyone else?
I kind of feel the same about Galvatron and Grimlock. But I think I more hate how they evolved. Galvatron started out as a force to be reckoned with and then just became a nut job. Grimlock also started out as someone more to be afraid of and then in season 3 became comic relief.

I flipped out when I first got my hands on Energon SS. I still like him... but the movie and animated (&classics, with the exception of classics SS, ironically enough) ... he's kind of meh. I still like the transformation... but he's just not as exciting...
But he definitely has an important part in my collection... he's kind of the catalyst... one of the figures (along with MP prime) that got me excited about the line.

I don't have any that I loved and now hate, but I do have one that I have HATED from the very first release and that was the Action Masters. In my eyes this is what ended the US line, I mean come on Transformers that give up their ablitly to Transform only to come with a accesory that transforms?!!!
Of course the Pertender are a close 2nd, Nice idea bad vechile modes.

I don't think I can say I "hate" a G1 figure now, but what I hate is the lack of posablity. That is what makes Classics/Universe so appealing. And if I want the character to look more G1ish, like say Powerglide, I just contact my friend in Japan and he can get me a G1 correct Powerglide from the Universe line.

I always have and always will be a a DIEHARD G1 FANBOY

and a DIEHARD BEASTWARS HATER

!!!(seriously the thought of all Transformers turning into nothing but animals sucks in my opinion. Yes I know the the Dinobots are animalformers and so is animated Blackarachnia. I don't mind A FEW animalformers but not an entire line. Rant over

) The only other lines I have collected/cared about are classics, universe, movie, and animated. All the other stuff was ok to watch sometimes but the toys failed in my opinion. Oh and the Masterpeices are just that.

Expensive enough I've never tried to track one down.
Search around for Jizai Toys and you'll find other cool stuff they've done.
I'm still surprised by how many collectors over here haven't heard of them. They really need to establish an english presence outside of Japan.

It's the people who have the Perfect Cyclonus and Wheelie.
Crap they usually go for $185 and the $25 shipping to USA
That would take some work to get one of those

One thing I liked at first then quickly grew to hate is the rub signs. I remember they started out on the mini-spies which was kind of a neat idea. Next thing I know they are on every toy. Sometimes they were put on in place of a normal faction sticker which ruined the looked a bit to me. I remember pulling them off of all my toys except for the mini-spies and man were they a pain to remove.
