I took a rare trip to the Wal*Mart in Herkimer NY, and was able to come across Oilslick. I also picked up 2 packs of Robot Heroes, giving me a total of $22.70 before tax. I proceeded to the checkout, presented my $5 off coupon, and was told to wait while the clerk went to get a floor manager. Upon her return, I was told the coupon was only good for purchases of Transformers $19.99 and higher! I tried to explain that I've been using the same coupons for weeks at other Wal*Marts, but to no avail!
My question is, How is $5 off $19.99 defined? I read it as off any Transformers Animated toy purchase of $19.99 or more, meaning the total! I've purchased several deluxe figures at other Wal*Marts and TRU using this method, and that's including Universe! Does it depend on the clerk you deal with as well? Has anyone else run into a problem using the coupons?

I think it depends on how stupid the management/clerks are.

For one thing, it says $19.99 worth of "ANIMATED" toys. Robot Heroes aren't Animated toys. Since they didn't even notice this, they're just stupid. $22 is higher than $19.99

The way I've read the coupon is $5 off a TOTAL purchase of $19.99 worth of Animated toys, be it one toy or several.
Of course, its ultimately up to the clerks (at Walmart, anyway) making the decision to accept the coupon since its scannable for any Habro purchase. I tried to see if it could be used for a G.I. Joe vehicle set and it worked. But that could just be my Walmart...

HINT: use the self-checkout lanes when possible. The scanner isn't an idiot.

So the coupon is programmed into every Walmart computer already?

Yeah, the barcode scans. If you use the self checkout, you just scan it, it takes the $5 off, and then you slide it into a slot built into the register. No one bothers checking it.

You can self check out with a single Robot Heros set and use the coupon.

It's up to the clerk when it's non-Animated merchandise, I guess.
I used my final coupon towards Universe Powerglide. Just told her "I might have a coupon for that. Not sure if it'll work, though."
but either way, at $22 worth of stuff, it could of been used.

I thought that the coupon could only be used with a purchase of Animated figures of Voyager or Leader class... I've never seen the coupon (and thus never used one) though. But it's up to the store whether they'll accept the coupon or not.

I've only got one Wal*Mart set up that way, and all they've got in is the same old stuff. I did however use a coupon at Target today for $5 off Universe Onslaught, so I guess it's up to the clerks discression. Has anyone ever tried to use multiple coupons on 1 item at a self checkout?

OK, here's what I have to say after years of retail, and being a consumer.
Clerks ask cause they don't wann get accused of stealing money if the till is off. Managers are idiots and often high, and will just say no if unsure.
Easy way around it, make a fuss that way the manager will give you what you want before the GM gets involved sees the manager is enept and promotes the clerk who did the right thing in the first place to his position.
As for self scanners, we had them in the ghetto where I live, they didn't last long. Honor system my left cheek!

I'd like to see the facts behind your theory, as most retail manager couldn't find their asses with both hands, let alone a bag of weed.

12 years of working retail, thats where I got my facts.
CD World if we got everything done before closing, the manager would smoke everyone out after locking the doors.
Barnes and Nobels, yeah Mike, you where in the office eating powdered donughts. The 2 floor managers would use me as a look out when they slipped out the back door. My department manager would just show up drunk and spike his coffee all night long.
Michaels Arts and Crafts, you don't even wanna know
A&P, you know when ice cream goes out of date they just dump it, good times!!!
Hell even my nonretail jobs have always had someone getting high. I just got off the phone with one of my sales managers, it's 9:30am and he told me he likes it better than coffee.
I don't smoke anymore cause I just don't like it anymore, but let me tell you, people are high!!!

Hey I wasn't doing that, even when I did smoke, I was always to paranoid to do that anywhere but the safety of my own home.
