Non-canon is

All right, full explanation: There was a cut scene from ANH where Biggs comes back to Tatooine and talks to Luke. They're shooting the sh*t and the topic of Sand People comes up. That's the context for Biggs' quote above. The point was only to show that by the time Attack of the Clones came out, the Sand People were these fearsome, terrible warriors capable of killing men and/or removing their lower legs and stuff.

But like I said, it was never officially a part of ANH anyway, so there's officially no contradiction.

They were vicious in ANH too - luke couldnt roll out of the way fast enough!

It's a reference to Shmi Skywaker's 'capper husband in AotC.

Clieg Lars (Uncle Owen's father) lost his leg to the Sand people, apparently when Clieg and a bunch of other guys went looking for Shmi.

I'm waiting for the special, special, special editions where they cut in a CGI scene of his leg roasting over a fire at Sand People village.

That and the Dagobah scenes. Oh and that other Dagobah scene in RotJ.

I like how the entire dramatic weight of ESB depends upon Luke not making the same mistake his father did... you know, rushing out to fight before his training was complete, just like Anakin. OH WAIT THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED IN ROTS AT ALL, ANAKIN WAS ACTUALLY ON THE F*CKING JEDI COUNCIL AND HE WENT EVIL BECAUSE OF HIS GHEY WIFE WHICH TOTALLY MAKES SENSE OF COURSE

And also, it could be easily dismissed as simply a bit of hyperbole.



But see, Luke rushed out and got in a fight with Darth Vader.

Anakin rushed out and...saw Palpatine and Jules Windu fighting and Palpatine tried to act like HE was the victim and if he died Anakin would not be able to save Padme so Anakin couldn't let him die only Palpatine wasn't the victim he was simply playing up to Anakin's fears because he wanted a strong apprentice to help him control the galaxy.

*gasp*

Luke was tempted ("Join me and we can rule the galaxy" = ABSOLUTE POWER!) and resisted because he was good. Anakin was tempted ("Join me and we can learn how to live indefinitely" = ABSOLUTE POWER!) but couldn't resist because he was a pussy.

Yeah, I ain't buying it. Just reading the dialogue from the Dagobah scenes paints a verrry different picture of what happened with Vader. Er, Anakin. Starting with Yoda's pointed question to Ghosty Obi-Wan, "Will he finish what he begins?"

Well, Anakin didn't finish. He was on the Jedi Council, but not a Jedi Master.

And wasn't the notion not so much that Luke wasn't finished with his training, but that he was emotionally-driven in his desire to leave and help his friends, thus making himself more susceptible to temptation from the Dark Side? That mirrors Anakin's fall pretty well...

And Obi-Wan's response to Yoda's question:

Qui Gon was his mentor as a teen/adult.
Yoda ran the childrens' classes.

obi wan never states how old he was when "yoda trained him" he just states he instructed him.

Yeah this was all covered in the prequels... whether or not it was covered satisfactorily is another matter.

Honestly, this movie seems to be in line with the other prequels. The only reason I'll go see it is because it's Star Wars. One thing I noticed is that the character's faces barely move when they're talking or attempting to show body language. They must've used too much Botox.

Also, I wouldn't mind if they made an RTS out of this. Perhaps in the near future as an expansion to Empire at War.

They are making a console game... but I imagine it will be standard third-person kid fare, nothing too spectacular.
