Is it just me, or is the storyline for this Nemesis Prime just plain stupid? When you hear the words "NEMESIS PRIME", you kind of expect a clone of Optimus Prime that could kick even Megatron's butt. This guy's story suggests he's some retooled Cybertronian that looks like Prime and has some of his memories, but is some kind of unstable robotic vampire. Hiding in the shadows.....give me a break. I am no fan of Optimus Prime. As a matter of fact, I have masterpiece Megatron on my desk at work holding masterpiece Prime's head. I have always thought of Prime as a little *****, but when I first heard about the Nemesis Prime concept back in the day, I was very excited. Here was a dark version of Prime. Now they just totally ruined it. I guess that's Hasbro for you.
Now, my problem is whether I want to open this Nemesis Prime after paying the BBTS no vaseline on this **** price.
I gotta disagree. Instead of him just being "ZOMG, Prime but teh evils!" and reversing his personality so he's cruel instead of kind, blah blah, they took some poor schmuck, programmed Prime's knowledge into him without giving him anything to frame it around, and it broke him. I kinda like that part, it's a unique spin. Also, bonus points for getting Straxus mentioned.. hopefully we'll see a toy of him in Universe someday.
But count me in on not seeing these new bumps on the mold.. I've got 5 of the fig, and they all look like they share the same version of the mold as the first run of Classics Prime. Can you be more specific as to where exactly to look, Liege?
However, it's always looked like he's been designed for a possible trailer -- there's a hitch on the back of his legs, you can see it in tru's pic-- (in fact, rumors when he was first shown was that there'd be 2 versions of him, one just the cab sold as a voyager, and one with a trailer that was to be sold as a leader class, iirc). I suspect it's just one of those mold details that surived thru to the production figure that wont end up being used (like the trailer hitch on Energon Rodimus).
I don't care about the bios, I make up my own stories. My first Nemesis(RID Scourge) was made by Megatron as an instult to the autobots. Scourge was one hell of a fighter though, and took over the Decepticons himself. Universe Nemesis was created by Unicron as a gift to Scourge who was recently dethroned. Universe Nemesis helped get the empire back and with the aid of his right hand RazorClaw kept the Decepticons inline as Unicrons minions. My next Nemesis(NightWatch Prime) was made by HellRaisers PinHead, after TM2 Megatron removed Scourges lightpiping and gave it to him as a gift as he assumed comand of the Decepticons.
NightWatch although powerful, is somewhat daft and tends to remain docile untill provoked. PinHead who still has the lightpiping decided he wasn't pleased with his first atempt in exploring this new type of creature and delved deep inside the technologhy and mindset and created a new Scourge almost to perfectly who has a mindset based solely on avenging himself and taking back his empire.
That is, assuming he can break free from his dark entanglements.

Screw the bios, when I buy it, I own it, and from there the name, bio, faction, and everything else is up to me to decide.
