This is a pretty obvious re-paint,so obvious i cant belive hasbro havent done it themselves,however Apex Prime did a Fantastic Digi-bash of Scorponok a while back wich really inspired me to tackle the big guy.Actualy this was a bit of a nightmare project,took way longer than i expected & i managed to scratch my cornea at work,so i couldnt paint for a week[V]First of all i tried making Scorponok a headmaster but the head was just too small and i ended up scraping that idea.So i went for a few Weapons upgrades instead.First of all i took the rather puny looking cannons & extended the barrels using aliminium & plastic tubing.I then attached them with rare earth magnets.Next i made Scorponoks shield out of a piece of Zoid i had lying around & added a couple of scythes of a 40k dark eldar vehicle,again this is attached with rare earth magnets.Finaly i made his gun,this was made out of Armarda Smokescreens crane gun with a load of aircraft kit & 40k bitz.Scorponok was painted with Games workshop paints,mainly Dark angels green,Dwarf Bronze,Burnished gold & a custom mixed purple.Loads more pics here..

While I still don't see the mold as a stand in for G1 Scorponok(it has to have a city mode, to do that for me!), that's some great work there.
This picture here;

Thanks alot

yep thats just paint on the chest cannons.
I`m with you on the city mode but because of the size of the figure & to fit in scale with my other classics i decided not to go for it.

I love it! In fact, I may have to try it myself. I think that may be the same purple I used on my moviescorpy repaint, but the green is a lot better than what I used. Anyways, really nice job! That shield is pure

That is one of the most detailed and professional paint jobs I've ever seen! You've really captured the feel of the G1 character in this toy. Wonderfully done!

I like it, the paint detail gives it a sort of steam punk feel with the royal purple, emerald green and worn metals. deffinately a great job.

Awesome!
What mold is that?
I always thought a cool updated Scorponok would have like an orbital cannon mode. Like the tail straightens out into a cannon (kind of reminds me of the orbital cannon from Halo 3, you know the one).
That jet mode looks sweet too.

Thats way too well done for Hasbro to do. If they did do a Universe Scorponok it would be much different from that and not as cool looking. In other words,
