so who else picked up this DVD? I got the 2 pack with batman Begins

I have to say for something that is the Animatrix but with Batman I was quite happy and their was something for all sorts of fans. I for one can see Test drive going down well with fan girls but my fav has to be the one with Dead Shot (the films name has escaped me)

Picked it up and watched it a couple weeks ago.

Overall a really good direct to dvd effort.

Having Conroy back as Batman was also pretty cool.

Found it unbelievable how much blood the directors got away with while still maintaining the PG-13 classification. That and the head shot Deadshot preformed.

All in all awesomeji1.gif

Looking forward to the Wonder woman movie they have planned.

Looks good, and closer in style with the JLU universe.

How about a review with spoiler tags?

Non-spoilery recap:

Basically, six 10-12 minute shorts produced by different animation production houses (like the Animatrix, if you've seen that). However, unlike the Animatrix, the last five shorts sort of feature a semi-coherent running plot thread, which is prettty cludged together and doesn't really flow from short-to-short very well - the goal of the "plot thread" seems to be to introduce some of the characters in The Dark Knight (e.g. Lt. Gordon's MCU detectives, the Chechen and Sal Maroni).

On the whole I'd grade it a solid B, as the different stylistic anime interpretations of Batman are cool - I think I would have given it an A if the stories weren't linked (as with the Animatrix), as the linkage lacks consistency and is a bit distracting precisely because it doesn't match up very well.

I got it and I loved it. Deadshot was AWESOME! That was my favourite segment.

Really disliked the Batman: TAS "Legends of the Dark Knight" episode rehash (where the kids all give their spin on what they think Batman actually is) that started off the disc since it went down THE EXACT SAME WAY. But overall, I really liked it, especially "Field Test."

I had a problem with Batman casting. Don't get me wrong, I love The Animated Batman, but if you're trying to bridge the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, you need to at least try and emulate Bale's Batman.

Eh, no other voice actor was close enough (or not close enough) to any of the other live-action actors' voices to bug me too much. And since Conroy IS Batman when it comes to an animated Batman (sorry Jeremy Sisto), I think it was a wise choice. Oh, and Will Friedle for the win.

Now, making it all different animation styles...

*looks down nose at "anime" Batman*

...that's my beef.

I picked it up, I probably will watch it this coming week.
