Don't ask for freebies in Florida, especially if you're a cop. Ft Lauderdale recently terminated a 15yr veteran, Lt. Major Garvin, for failing a polygraph test that the Lt insisted on taking. This stemmed from complaints at a Starbucks that was on Garvin's regular route. According to statements, the Lt would drop in at least 6 times a night, cut in front of paying customers and demand free beverages. He included threats of decreased response times if he was not given his drinks.
