I've had a Machine Wars Starscream since it came out. Unfortunately, it has always been this hulking monstrosity that I'm certain the other Starscreams in my collection make fun of. The last straw came when a friend saw it and called it a GoBot reject. I've decided I'm going to either make it worthy of its space on the shelf with my other Starscreams or destroy it in the process.
Ultimately I would like to make it at least vaguely resemble G1 Screamer while in robot mode and also make it more pose friendly. Machine Wars Screamer has 2 points of articulation, a turntable joint at each shoulder. I'd like to give it better shoulders, and add elbows, knees, hips, and neck articulation.
I have a problem in the form of stabilizing the figure while standing though, and I'm tacking that first since the rest of the project depends on it. This was mostly alleviated when I took off that dumb scope thing on the back (and now the jet form looks more like a SR-71 Blackbird). The feet still do not look up to the task of supporting the robot though. They're about the same size as D-02 Starscream's and that figure is about 5 inches shorter.
I was hoping somebody knows a trick to putting something where there is almost no structural support to put it. The Grey feet are housed in a small frame that can be completely taken out, it's that little vent you see in the pictures around the feet. I cannot build more frame deeper into the leg because the thigh fits right there while in jet mode.
Thanks in advance
P.S. These images are not photos I've taken. I'm using them as concept art.
