I'm just throwing out an idea here and seeing what people would think.

The concept starts with Lockdown fed up with megatron and starscream starts hunting decepticons cos the elite guard DOES pay better. he hunts other alien types as well.

Other would be defectors against the decepticon cause like Blackaracknia (you know writers are going to rip off beast wars here) and Oil slick (circuit su martial artist like prowl come-on now) would join up with Lockdown to have one foot in the good while having the other foot in the bad ass action for a much more adult/graphic/expletive comic done in the fashion of vertigo comics or like DC's Lo-bo (who lockdown emulates in animated).

I figure the comic would eventually include Prowl in the mix of this...either joining or being a sort of go between from the bounty hunters and the auto bots.

I think Lockdown has so much good story potential here in this fashion.

Already the writers showed that Lockdown got screwed out of his pay once he got starscream(clone) so one could imagine he's not particularly happy with that. also his character has been developed to respect the work of the autobots and attempt to have a friendship with one of their numbers. As far as decepticons go Lockdown has no respect for the followers of Megatron.

Blackarakina as we know is already developed to switch sides at any moment. All of her demands are personal and cares little for the cause of Megatron.

Oil Slick may be a a real mean guy but it seems he's too serious and meditative to tolerate the other decepticons. The bot design already alludes to the idea that he would be better matched with Lockdown and I can already see some constant Prowl friendship conflicts in the early part of season 3. It looks like writers are barrowing from GI joe Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow chemistry.

Thats my beginning on this.
