JESSE JACKSON SAYS HE WANTS TO CUT OBAMA'S 'NUTS OUT'!

QUOTE
In a vulgar tirade caught on tape by Fox News, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said he wanted to "cut his [Barack Obama's] nuts out" and he accused the fellow Chicagoan of "talking down to black folks" by giving moral lectures to African-Americans, source said Jackson's shocking quotes were picked up by a hot mic before an interview on health care in Fox's Chicago studio last Sunday.

A representative from John McCain's campaign was quoted as saying, "Yeah, someone tell the Reverend to get in line."

Boo.

Though my girlfriend and I caught Al Sharpton discussing the controversy on Fox News, of all places, on TV last night. He said something to the effect of (and I'm paraphrasing) "well, he apologized, so we should all just move on to more important issues." Both of our heads nearly exploded.

I think he should apologize for not using a clever political euphemism. He wouldn't be in any trouble at all if he'd have been caught saying, "Sometimes I just wanna grab the distinguished Senator from Illinois and gerrymander away his two most important constituents, if you know what I mean."

Especially since everyone knows this is the only way you apologize to Jesse Jackson.

Which gives me an MS Paint idea...

That reminds me of an Oliphant cartoon that caused a stir in our paper several weeks ago.

If its Jesse Jackson saying it, wouldn't it have to have a sort of sing-songy rhyme scheme to it, as many years of SNL parodies have told me he talks this way?

After watching the video clip of JJ, I must say I loved his "cha'ching" motion.

I'm really glad that this happened, because to me it illustrates a divide that I think Obama is on the right side of.

oh and BWAHAHA
Stormtrooper53
I just think its sad. I mean, I don't like the guy at all, but it sucks that he can't catch a break. He's either "acting too white" or "not black enough" or people don't like him "because he's black."

And I'm wondering why we still look at the color of a guy's skin at all.

*wonders what would have happened if, say, Pat Robertson had said he wanted to cut Barack's nuts out*

Because Pat Robertson would be so concerned about Obama talking down to black people?

But you know, this is the gauntlet any African-American candidate has to run. You can't be an Uncle Tom, and you can't be a Louis Farrakhan either. I don't know how the hell you would even navigate that, since there are people on both sides waiting and watching with suspicion.

His motivation for saying he wanted to "cut his nuts out" would be unimportant, I think. Or at least less important that a white dude saying he wanted to cut a black dude's nuts out.
Lord Madhammer
I'd be more shocked that Pat Robertson said the word "nuts".
Nomolos
Al Sharpton said we should move on because he apologized? :hmmm

so if someone apologized to Al would he get a job and stay the hell outta everything?

yea rly, its just one more way for JJ to get in the news. most of the U.S. thinks he's a joke anyway.
Lord Madhammer
It's funny, I read some commentary on that saying that he's been on TV far too long to be like "oops I didn't realize the mic was on". They thought that he intentionally let it happen b/c of how frustrated he was with Obama.

But who knows, it's all kind of ghey/funny anyway.

Gosh I’m so tired of this divisive exchange they must focus on change, like change they must change, to the change they hold dear, have they made themselves clear?

True. He does not, in fact, emit or reflect light in any part of the visible spectrum. Also, he does not absorb all such frequencies of light.

Hey, I'm just saying...

I find it curious how so many people are excited about Obama being the first African-American candidate for president, just as they were excited about Hillary Clinton being the first woman candidate... and yet neither candidate really fulfills the qualifications of the demographics they supposedly represent. In that Obama isn't the descendant of West African slaves, and that Clinton isn't a self-made woman.

Just as long as no references, in any way, are made to a "black hole". We would not want any, um...african americans coming out and saying thats racist.
