Avalon, NJ. On a nice 4 day weekend away with my new Girl Friend. I enter this rinky dink store in the middle of this nice shore town and spot the clerk putting out new Universe Transformers. Not wanting to indulge around the new GF so quickly I take a glance, and it’s only the smaller figures, repaints of Energon and all that. Not wanting anything of those, I walk on, happy I did not have to miss anything.

The next day, we hit the same store at a different beach point, Stone Harbor, and low and behold I get a ½ an hour to my self. Wander into the store and just brush by the toy section and there it is…the new Classics Prowl, Sunstreaker and Octaine (tankor, what ever). $16.99. DANG! I’m standing there, holding Prowl, thinking I really want this, and go back and forth with the decision to buy, or not to buy now. People walk past, almost running my over as I think to my self, ok it would be a nice way to remember the beach…naw that’s stupid. It’s HERE, and it’s MINE, NAW it’s $7 more, I can get 2 for about that much. Back and forth, on and on. Share something special to me, keep it from her so I’m not such a weirdo… Finally $ won out, and I put it back thinking I’ll just pick it up at home.

Next day, we go back to the same dang store in Avalon, and this time they do have Just Prowl, apparently they sold the rest of the case in 12 hrs and I missed them. She spots me looking at it and asks if I am going to get that. Having to show some sense of will power, I place it back and say, NO, I can get it cheaper at home.

I get up this morning, my first day back to work, and what better way to start the day then to hit the store and pick up the new, long awaited Transformer? I hit Wal-Mart #1, and there was not a Classics TF in sight. Drive up the road for Wal-Mart #2 and again, blank wall. Going for broke, I hit a Target at 8:08, with 20 minutes to get to work, and once again defeated.

Moral of this story is…there is none. But if your in Avalon and want your new TF, hit the store now!

i'm not worried about picking anything up except store exclusives, those are the only items that will never get restocked.. anything else i'll have several oppurtunities to buy

Try TRU if you have one in your area. I picked up Tankor (who now goes by the name of Octane) and Sunstreaker today. No Prowls. Maybe later this week.

^ follow that guys suggestion. I've had mine for about two weeks now. Also, if I were you I'd hold off a bit on Prowl. Paint quality is awful, the white is tacky, rubs off. Word on the net is this is only on the first few runs of the figs. Don't know if that true but....

I'm starting to agree with everyone about getting the transformers as soon as possible.

Though not all of the "several year old" transformers cost too much. I got classics Astrotrain for less than 20 bucks including shipping. Piece of advice: Avoid Ebay for transforms unless you're just desperate. Amazon's the way to go because you don't have to deal with bidding and you don't have to wait for the auction to end.

Your not beat origional poster, just hit Toys r US, they have all the deluxes. I'm in Jersey too, and if you can't find them, PM me and I'll score them for you.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these figures are new, and not widely circulated yet.

I know what it's like craving a figure, but man, better to crave at the beginning of a release then at the end.

I say snag the toys regardless of romantic company.

QUOTE
Garth: Uhm, Wayne? What do you do if every time you see this one incredible woman, you think you're gonna hurl?

Wayne: I say hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, then it was never meant to be.

Yeah but why overpay and potentialy give up a chance at getting some over a figure thats gonna be all over and cheaper?

I can see if it was say Victory Saber for $100, hell, kick her over and run real fast!

Otherwise, why jynx some sumer love'n!?!

Bikini Beach Ass > Prowl, for those that still don't get it.

I'm sorry to hear.

I got my deluxe wave one classics a few weeks ago at toys r us, but in the past week targets around my area, the suburbs north of philly, have been doing there reset or whatever it's called. So they have out all of the wave 1 deluxes and voyagers.

So my advice would be to keep trying toys r us and target.

see the problem was a lot of stores, like Target are trying a re-set of the shelves. They want clearance on the old toys before they bring in the new. A few scattered cases started to come out and get gobbled up pretty quick.

I got 2 sunstreakers and a prowl on a run last week, and octaine on another.

I might get Swoop, and possibly slag, but that's about it, I gota slow it down.

Notice, some stores are charging $10.99 now instead of $9.99 or $9.98

It was still several trips on my way to work and home till I found these suckers. Lucky I found a Jazz TFA, but that's for a custom job I hope to start soon.
Blitz
if any thing I say good for you you didn't give in to stupid prices just to get something now and that's $4 less then a voyager toy that's twice the size as well.

I donno. I love my Prowl and think the white just suits him. So far he's my favorite classic figure (although the white will someday start changing color. Wish there was a surefire way of keeping him white and pristine). As far as the other colors, I haven't had any problems with his color changing. Maybe a lose neck but I think I can live with it for now. 07redface.gif

Doesn't feel pain.

Saw about eight Sunstreakers warming pegs this past weekend.

Walked out with animated Black Arachnia instead.

May yet get Universe but feel no need for it.
D-Unit
I'm surprised they are hard to find by you. I am from the Jersey shore area and they have tons of the new stuff everywhere

The moral of the story is, go to Target. They have everything. Voyagers and Ultra plus animated leaders and supreme.

Only thing I haven't seen somewhere in my city (wichita, ks) are the Ultras. But those aren't really out yet, are they?

We've still got a decent selection of movie figs, along with a healthy assortment of Animated. Either your area hasn't gotten their stock, or you'll get more opportunities. If not from the store, then from a boardmember whose area just has them warming the pegs. Even then, I'd say you'd still save money over that first beach shop if you wanted more than one.

Ultras have been at my Targets for over a week.
