Transformers Concept Art Reveals Aircraft Carrier
Source: Tim Flattery
July 8, 2008

Concept artist Tim Flattery has posted a batch of 15 images he produced for the first Transformers that reveal his design idea for the aircraft carrier Transformer that didn't make it into the film. Director Michael Bay had mentioned it might pop up in the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but recently producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said that wouldn't be the case.

Here they are.

I have to say I'm not keen on the spider effect but having so many legs but the later pics when its a biped look cool but these are rejected so they could very well rejected because the idea had been scrapped

Only pictures 4 and 5 are of the carrier 'bot, the bipeds are other Transformers (1-3 Optimus, 6-7 & 11 protoform Optimus, 8-10 Blackout, 12-14 not sure maybe Megatron?, 15 protoform re-entry mode).

The concept was scrapped because it did not fit into the budget of TF1. It was simply too large of an undertaking.
