Full Version: Digibash Request: Animated Deluxe Megs into...

I'd like to place in a request to all those willing to listen.

I've recently taken a look at Animated Deluxe Megatron(the one that comes with Prime). While he...well, kind of falls flat AS Megs, I could immediately see a whole bunch of other TF's he could be recoloured into(and plan to get a bunch for just this purpose once they start appearing in European shops). I hereby contact you to assist my vision.

The first, and most obvious, recolouring is of Wind Sheer(from RiD, the black jet with the neon green trims). The second is of G1 Fangry(with the light maroon, black and the green face). The third is of RiD Armorhide(the one with the blue and the urban black-and-white camo, not the one with the desert camo). The fourth is of G1 Horri-Bull(with the grey, the blue and the copper face) Number 5 is of, continuing the Headmaster trend, Squeezeplay(with the pinkish-pueple, the dark blue and the reddish-grey). The last one is of G2 Hooligan(the orange-with-black-tiger-print and red jet). None, obviously, keep the damage sparks.

If anyone could help, I'd be appreciated. If you require a pose, use this one, or, if you HAVE this Megs laying around, feel free to give him a better pose.

Thanks in advance.

I might be interested in doing this for you, but a couple of things to note:

1. Watermarked images like the one you provided a link to are pretty much useless. I'm sure we could find one better doing a google image search anyway.

2. If you're not able to provide pics of the color schemes you want, the next best thing to do is detail how the color scheme should be replaced. With this deluxe Megs, there looks to be 3 color tones (red, light grey, and dark grey). There is also the battle damage spots on his body. Naturally you'd need to specify which colors you want swapped out for which new colors. For example, you mention Wind Sheer, so you'd need to list what you want the light grey changed to, the dark grey changed to, and so on. Pics are of course always better since we don't have to guess on the actual hues.

If you're still interested, get back to me on those points and we'll work on it.

I'm just guessing that he wants approximate colors, so basically you use your noggin to figure out what he means and show him. Like Windsheers body color should be Megs body color and then use Windsheers trim colors on Megs trim......you're making it harder than it should be by requesting color hues and etc.

Excuse me then. Was just interested in helping out on this, but I guess I shouldn't have bothered.
The Redesigner
Okay, Firebrand, I'll see if I can help you out a little bit.

1: The pose image. I searched for a good image to use, but that's really the best one on-site.

2: I'd have included pics, but the site I would normally use for them, BWTF, is down. Remyis fairly good about some images as well, but he doesn't have all the ones I seek(for some weird reason, there's no Wind Sheer on his site, for example). I'm kind of short on time now, but I'll see if I can find some images when I return later.

That said, thanks for wanting to help out. smiletf.gif

I already found a better quality version of that Megs image. I had a look at wind sheer, but can't decide which parts of Meg should be purple versus which parts should be green. Which would you prefer?
The Redesigner
I'll get to work on finding those images I spoke about now.

That aside...well, just stick to what you think works. Two hints, tho: The purple should be concentrated around the places where Wind Sheer was purple(or whatever parts of Megs are black, your choice). Secondly, the neon green trim: apply it where you think it should be applied. Two places it needs to be, though, are on the helmet's edge closest to the face, around the chest-ornament and maybe some stuff on the arm cannon.

Okay, I found a bunch of images to use. The following pages have 'em:

Weirdwolf(replacing Wind Sheer, unless you've done ol' Sheer already): http://www.unicron.us/tf1987/figures/wierdwolf.htm
Squeezeplay: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Squeezeplay
Horri-Bull: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Horri-Bull
Fangry: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Fangry
Hooligan(Vehicle): http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toy...oligan/326/1/3/
Hooligan(Robot): http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toy...ligan/326/1/22/
Armorhide(vehicle): http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toy...rhide/1241/1/2/
Armorhide(robot): http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toy...hide/1241/1/28/

Hope these help. smiletf.gif If Armorhide's colours are a bit too annoying to do, I could find a recolour...

So it looks like you're wanting a custom paint job, rather than just a repaint of the original scheme. I'll give it a shot, but it will take considerably more work to create customized elements. I figure the dark parts of Meg should stay dark, though I will darken them even more to look like Wind Sheer's black paint. The light grey should become purple according to the pic I have of Wind Sheer. I copy you on the green trim for Meg's helm, And I've got a few ideas for the green where I want to put it as accents around parts of his body. Also since I'm turning the light grey to purple, I'm going to have to change the red plastic to a more orange color to set it off from the purple next to it (red next to purple looks bad). I'll get started on it tonight and have it done by tomorrow.

Thank you, Firebrand. smiletf.gif

I finished making the elements and did a windsheer scheme. The red plastic parts just looked clashy after a few colors, so I came to the conclusion that it made more sence to have it match the green trim on the body. Sometimes too many colors just doesn't look right. I still have the plastic as a separate element, so I can go back and change it if you don't like.

Anyway, my web hosting provider is sarcasticpelicanlb2.gif ing hardcore right now, so my apologies if you can't see the pic or if its very slow loading:

Tomorrow, I'll have a look at some of those other color schemes you listed and see what looks cool to do next.

Firebrandx
I've added the image to my Gallery so it can be viewed there. Sorry again for my web hoster sarcasticpelicanlb2.gif ing.

If I may be so kind as to offer my opinion...

As far as I know, Wind Sheer was predominantly black and purple. This one is predominatly purple and green. I like the effort you put into it, that much is sure, but please, increase the amount of black, and tone down the purple and green(black upper body, purple abdomen with green trim 'round the edges, black helmet with green trim). The legs are perfectly okay.

I'd also like to apologize for suggesting someone with as annoying a colour palette as Wind Sheer. If you'd like, I could offer a number of replacements with less annoying colours...
Firebrandx
Well this is exactly what I was talking about when I wanted specifics, but instead I got told this:

So I try to approximate and its nothing like what Redesigner wanted. I think I'll stick to just doing my own preferred digibashes from now on.

In the mean time, I'll swap out the purple for black and make the formerly red plastic parts the new purple and then be done with it. If its still not good enough, then so be it.

Firebrandx
Alright, here's the updated version. I'm done dealing with it.

The Redesigner
Much better. Thank you, Firebrand. smiletf.gif

Also, I promise to not put you through thoroughly annoying colour schemes like 'Sheer's ever again.
