Ok, so I passed on Megs in his first lilac flavored incarnation, and finally managed to score a premium one today. Is there... some sort of trick to his fusion cannon I just cant see? Pulling the tab on it deploys it but there seems to be no way to actually lock it so it stays out. Am I missing something somewhere, or did i get nailed with a bad figure?

Thanks to anyone who can help with this, I dont want to take his arm apart and potentially break him if i can avoid it since it took me so damn long to find him in the first place.

Neither. I think it's actually supposed to work that way.
Hellscream333
you missed nothing. It was engineered to not stay out.
Greatshot
Oh. well that explains it then. laughlol.gif

I've seen pictures in galleries online where it was popped out (guess good timing on the photos or something) so i figured it was supposed lock in place and i was missing a tab or something.

Thanks guys. smiletf.gif

A lot of people removed the spring so it stayed in place, and put it in the other arm to give him a launching "flail fist"

yeah. the spring is in the wrong gimmick. switch out the spring and you're good to go. it's not hard to do either.
Greatshot
Aha! So that's what the little trigger on his other arm is for. Makes sense now. I think i'll see if i can figure it out without destroying him. post-21-1056296563.gif

And that was a heck of a lot easier than I expected it to be. He's even cooler properly assembled. Thanks again for the help, folks. biggrintf.gif

if you watch the movie he pulls out the mace so both versions are wrong. should be no spring period. if I'm wrong it's cool
Detective Barricade
The odd thing is, the trigger itself has a peg that the spring from the fusion cannon fits onto nice and securely. cliffjumper.gif It seems that there WAS a spring that going to be there, but was left out for some reason...

Most likely safety concerns. Word is that the Japanese releases of Megatron had springs in BOTH arms.

I wonder if the Toy Safety Board Members ever look at the number of injuries or fatalities in Japanese kids before declaring toys unsafe?

Also, I don't realy care for the "canon" on Megatron so I don't deploy it often. I have put the two arms together though(little posts on the back of the arm kibble) and had it stay a couple times, probably just dumb luck though.

I have a question not so much about the gimicks but the actual figure itself.

With TFA being held back for whatever reason I saw movie premium Megatron at Walmart today.

Still going for close to 60 CND.

Damn tempting, because it's the last fig I need to complete the movie character line up. That and I hate skipping out a Megatron from any line.

For those who like me waited is it worth it or better skipped in all it's entirety.

My movie Prime is awful lonely standing all by himself. rumblecry.gif

That's the problem with Canadian stores. They charge way too much... huffermad.gif Grab Premium, but do NOT push the black button in jet mode. Your sanity will thank you in advance! optimuslaugh2.gif

He's alright if all you want him to do is stand in a group looking vaguely menacing. He's got posability issues because of his back heaviness (even with the batteries removed), poor feet, and his arms have limited range of movement.

I like him (I like the character design), but compared to the leader Prime he's an underwhelming pile of crap. Shrug.gif

If you're going to get one, definitely get the premium version though.
JustLOKIPLVY
Thanks for the advice. thumbsup1.gif

I like the premium job and I really want a Movie Megatron to tie up the line of on screen characters but right now he's a bit much to justify spending that kind of money.

Oddly the movie leaders go for $%60 while the animated leaders go for about $50.

I know it's a ten dollar difference but right now I'm thinking animated Megatron over movie.

That figure is basically the one and only reason I've held out this long on purchasing movie Megatron.

That and I don't want to drop 60 bucks come in a month or two later and see an endcap of em clearenced for twenty.

Made that agonizing error in judgment with Energon OS a while back.
