Ok. So, I already knew that the downloadable content was nixed from this version and that this was just a watered downed next gen clone much like the PS2 version. Regardless of the platform, Rock Band well... still rocks. Here's my main beef with the Wii version. The only wireless component is the guitar!! WTF!!! The Wii system is built on a wireless controller platform. So, why in god's name are the drums and mic not wireless as well? While unpacking the box, I was just scratching my head when I stumbled upon the USB hub. And would it have been that difficult to add the wireless hubs to the rest of the instruments? The microphone is where the Wii version really had the chance to shine. Unlike the other consoles, which require a controller to select and control the mic settings, the Wii version could have come up with a simple and elegant solution by creating a hollow bodied mic which the wiimote controller could just clip into. Wires on a wireless system = sarcasticpelicanlb2.gif. Maybe the folks developing the next Guitar Hero for the Wii will get it right.

Yeah, after finding out about that, on top of the lack of DLC, I've decided to wait on Rock Band for a little while.

If you wait a few months, we'll see what the multi-instrument Guitar Hero package looks like. Hopefully, the Wii release for that will happen simultaneously with the other consoles. Either way, Rock Band is still a solid title on any platform and is still the most fun multiplayer experience I've ever had. I don't really have any interest in playing it solo though. Rockin' out with a bunch of friends is what it's all about IMO.
