Surprised no one's posted on it yet, anyone reading this? I know it's off to a slow start, but I'm pretty excited to see where it's going. I love Grant Morrison, so here's hoping he doesn't disappoint.

I'm reading it too. And I'm saddened by the first major casualty, which I think is to be expected. But I'm a little surprised with how quietly it was handled, a half page panel with little build up, but then again I missed out on Salvation Run. The same goes for how Final Crisis is being played out, like its a shadow event to the other events of the DCU. With Batman RIP, Camalot Falls (still going on?), and the coming DARKEST NIGHT, you already know who will survive the Crisis to some extent, but As it says "DCU Will never be the Same"

Daily Planet's bombed, Lois Lane's buried under the rubble. Oh, and Barry's back in town.
My prediction: Either the persons we saw dying aren't really dead, or, and with what previews have told us, I predict a massive Red Reset Button being pressed at the end of the series, undoing all that has been done up to that point, and establishing a new form of Multiverse, or something like that.

I must be the only one here avoiding this like it was the Black Plague itself. Magic reset button nonsense=ghey always, unless the universe you've set up is so broken you need it(See the original Crisis).

Marvel already played that card; magic reset-undo on Spiderman. But on a whole universe, I don't want to see it happen. Haven't picked up Final #2, but I get the feeling that it just might unravel into becoming a singular universe again.

Meh, Grant hasn't disappointed me yet. Well, still waiting for Wildcats #2, but other than that I love all his work. He put it out early that the action doesn't really start til issue #3, but nevertheless i still really enjoyed issue #1.

some highlights from wizardworld, but most of it was already common knowledge:
- Will Final Crisis become more clear? DiDio: It does become more clear as the story develops. The first three issues set up what's coming. It is the heralding of the Fifth World, and Darkseid twists it for his own needs. "How it affects the other heroes will come out in some of the one-shots and the rest of the series."
Final Crisis: With issue 2, said Didio, “You’re really starting to see the turmoil.” He further explained, “You’ll see how evil wins at the end of issue 3.”

Well I've finally caught up on Final Crisis. Requiem was touching... "weakness was really Chocos" was a good line..
On another end of the Crisis watch, I've caught up on Green Lantern as well especially with the Corps. and I see how things are shaping up to Mongul's Ring Quest:
Dismembered, and defeated by 'Regular' Cast of the GLC: Mongul's obviously going to get a Black Ring.

I was with it until Suicide Girl Mary Marvel showed up and Wonder Woman grew tusks.

that caught me offguard too... the whole Suicide Girl Mary thing... It just feels a little 'too bad' like Early 20s Madonna 'bad girl' and I think it was her wit the ball gag in her mouth following Wonder Woman at the end of the issue.
