What is your worst experience?
Mine so far is the fact I don't bring money to buy what I want. Other times I get cought in a very hard choice about what I want to get.
Post away folks.

When you have lots of figs on your wanted list, but your wallet disagrees with you. And when the fund's finally sufficient and not hurting my daily financial expenses, the figs were sold out and gotta start searching again.

Here's mine: when you search and search for a figure, get home with it..and it's defective. (two of the same lower arms, thighs, etc.) take it back, and there's no more around. and it stays that way for a good while.

Paid for a SDCC 08' Nemesis Prime on the 16th. Checked up on the tracking # today.... "return to sender, forwarding address expired"... F that. I've had my address on ebay AND paypal changed, checked and even previously used for over a month. I'm just a little frustrated, contacted etoyshunter.... waiting for a response. Really, I just want this toy in my hands right now.

Waiting for Movie Dropkick.
I'm in Wal-Mart, I see they just got Dropkick in. There's also a bunch of Bonecrushers there as well. Now I didn't go to buy TFers, but I stopped to look regardless. ATM I could only afford one figure.
My Bonecrusher at home was broken, so it needed replacement, but the online reviews made me really want Dropkick as well (one review called him the second best Movie Deluxe after CC Bumblebee).
I decided to get a new Bonecrusher. My reasoning? I thought that since Bonecrusher was a Wave 1 figure he would be gone soon, while the newer Dropkick would be on the pegs for a few more weeks at least.
What happened? Bonecrusher's still warming pegs while I didn't see Dropkick again for three months. Finally I ordered one from BBTS, only to go out the next day and find them at the local TRU.
On top of all of that, I was severely underwhelmed once I finally got it. Second best Movie Deluxe? Aside from his paint job he has no extraordinary qualities. I much prefer Wreckage, Bonecrusher, and Barricade to him.

I uh...Posted this on the wrong forum, I wanted to just put it on the actual toy disscusion, but it just ended up here. Could someone move it to that part of the website?

Wreckage I can kind of see (... but not really thanks to his crippling automorph), I don't have Bonecrusher so I can't comment, but Barricade?
"I don't need weapons, I have a stupid extendo-punch" Barricade?
"Standing up is for lame-os" Barricade?
Barricade was the biggest let-down of the movie line for me, with the possible exception of Blackout. Shame, as they were my two favorite Decepticons.

My worst toy buying experience would have to be the year I went to Transcon 2 in '97. Sure, I didn't go just to buy toys, but seeing as how I was there and they had a dealer's room and all, I couldn't help but try to buy something I wanted. I went in there, and sure enough, spotted the table that had what I wanted. Specifically, it was the Raiden giftset. Saw it for what I thought was a decent price, and when I tried to inquire about it... I got a "grunt" from the ogre behind the table.

Of course, that happened to coincide with one of my most pleasant toy buying experiences. That convention is where I grabbed Godmaster Overlord, as well as the European exclusives Pryo and Clench. Both of the dealers I bought them from were cool as heck!

Also ran into the Hartman brothers there, bought the "Til' All are One" cd sets from them, was able to get Omnibot Overdrive and a set of the Powerdashers from another dealer who was awesome, he sold me all of those and they were all in decent shape for awesome prices.
I found out after that convention that the "grunting ogre" was supposedly Tony Preto, who is someone I had dealt with via mail and newsletter correspondence. I say supposedly, because the table in question was only being run by Tony. I'm guessing the "ogre" was someone who had been asked to watch over the table while Tony took a break. I met Tony at a Botcon years afterwards, definitely not the guy I had run into at Transcon, and he seemed to be a decent guy. I guess it was just bad luck that I didn't get to deal with him at Transcon... or maybe good luck, considering I had better dealings with some of the other people there.

usually i will go to the store to buy something, wont find what i wanted so i settle for something else, then find it a day later at the same exact store.
also, when i bought my armada smokescreen and got it home and opened, i realized someone stole the missile out of it.
other then that, ive gotten pretty lucky with most of my buys. just a few figures with defects out of all 237 figs.

Probably had to be when I got my G1 Optimus, traded a real rare expensive figure for that guy. Didn't know till a couple weeks later when a friend of mine showed me this thing called Ebay, that these things actualy have some value.
I'm gonna go to my grave kicking myself for that one.

I'm trying to be more of a grown-up lately and have been cutting back on TF's. But I'll still go to a store, find something I think I want, walk around with it for a while, and once I'm actually ready to check out will go put it back.
Did with Deep Space Starscream the other day...sigh...

I usually don't get many toys with defects other than bad paint apps or somethin'...but back in the R.I.D. era, I was excited to get the deluxe two-packs with the Machine Wars repaints. Skyfire had two left legs, which bugged the heck out of me, and Wind Sheer had two right arms...which were mostly symmetrical, but still mildly bugged me. Anyway, went to "complain" at their website, they told me to send the figures back and I'd get replacements. Mind that I never had experience like this in my life. Guess I should have sent the ENTIRE two-packs back and not just the loose defective figures, 'cause Hasbro only sent me one sealed two-pack to cover the two figures! Graaah! I had no idea it would work thattaway! I tried to explain my apparent mistake to Hasbro again, and they sent a Spychanger two pack (to appease my concerns, I guess). Too bad I already had the set...they sent me another one later...same thing...don't know why. Now I have one good Wind Sheer, two Skid-Zs and no Skyfire! Waaah hah hah! If that ever happens again, I'm just takin' it back to the store...lesson learned.

I found out a new mall was opening near my house, so I joined in on the grand opening day, hoping to grab an '08 Bumblebee. Rushing to the toy section, I found most of the TF's were already gone. The saleslady explained to me there was a "soft" opening the day before, and one person bought them all, getting all four BB08's on the pegs.

I was so distraught she took pity on me and gave me a discount coupon usually given to kids. I used it on a Zoids Neo-Blox G2Rex set, and that started my Zoids collection.

I feel your pain. Buying the Universe deluxes and TFA Voyager Prime was an $80 trip after GST..
My worst experience was wasting Paypal prize money (won from a Metal Clash round on this site when the movie came out) on Titanium Soundwave on eBay. That was before the Canadian dollar was virtually par, too, and the shipping was stupid.
Otherwise, anytime I've had a moment of weakness and bought something I had no desire for in desperation. Includes but is by no means limited to: Energon Hot Shot and Prowl, and Cybertron Override and Snarl (plus Scourge, although he looked awesome, he was just a disappointment).

I always figured it this way, if we are a TF Community, why not help eachother out. Me personaly, I'd rather pick up and ship an item to some hard working member with a reciept then see them get ripped off in the auctions or by online retailers.
To anyone out there, if you can't find it, or are getting ripped off, get a PayPal account and PM me. I hate seeing people pay more than what they have to for items that are choking my local retail shelves.

Thanks man. I'll remember this if prices get a little insane for a 20 dollar a week allowance (which means one deluxe a week.) Also prices are going up in September... will this affect Canada?
I would have to work out shipping and taxes first to make sure one is cheaper than the other. I think buying a figure no bigger than a voyager here would be cheaper, but anything bigger would be cheaper to be shipped up. This is great because of all those Universe Ultras on the way. Also we don't get any exclusives. But I mean the Canadian dollar is stronger than the American Dollar, yet I still have to pay more. THIS SHAT IS BANANAS!

My worst experience was falling in love with Movie Screamer against my will and then hunting for him well into October. I know he was common after that, but I JUST COULD NOT FIND HIM. Then I finally cracked and ordered him off of BBTS for about $35. When I got him he was, to say the least, BRICKED. I literally could move almost nothing. It was like someone dipped him in super glue for a joke (I think something like this happened. It was obvious the box had been opened before). I emailed BBTS about it and never got a reply (Big BAD Toy Store is right!). I decided to try and get the guy into working condition, so I slowly chiseled away at him, getting one part to move at a time, breaking him more than once. When I was done I had something that could barely transform and that had rickety joints and slash marks all over him. Still, seeing how awesome the guy was even in that pathetic state steeled my resolve to get a good one. I didn't get a chance to hunt for him until the last week in November, but luckily he was in the first store I found. And he was in perfect condition. I love that figure so much. The sucky one I've been tearing apart since December for parts.
