...or is it?

QUOTE
Two Muslim women at Barack Obama's rally in Detroit Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women's headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.

"I was coming to support him, and I felt like I was discriminated against by the very person who was supposed to be bringing this change, who I could really relate to," said Hebba Aref, a 25-year-old lawyer who lives in the Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills. "The message that I thought was delivered to us was that they do not want him associated with Muslims or Muslim supporters."

Wait why do we need proof of that?... No really.

I'm unilaterally against headscarves for any reason but keeping your head warm.

When there's evidence Obama asked the women to be moved, then we can talk conspiracy theories. As is, two campaign volunteers screwed up.

Wheeee, national news!

Then we'd see how enlightened he is?

(yes, I get you were speaking in terms of how that would affect him with the all important violent bigoted moron demographic, I was just dropping the one liner.)

Barack Obama has the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE tattooed on his stomach. It's upside-down, so he can read it while doing sit-ups.

wow, way to call out a bigot there fair open minded one. is it less bigoted to group everyone of any demographic as "morons" or its just ok cause you mean white people mainly in the south? I uh don't believe in "god" but I do believe in owning a gun. and your statement is extremely out of line. owning a gun doesn't make you violent or a moron.

however thinking everyone in any region or of any religion system are less than you or are simply dumb based on their region or religion would qualify as bigotry. 893Stone-thumb.gif

Well...

I think being against gay marriage is bigoted.

I think religion is a memetic malignant virus that has been documented to more acutely effect the less intelligent.

And while I am not against all forms of gun owner ship I do think throwing hot pieces of metal via small explosion at animals people or even objects is inherently violent.

This covers the 3 topics I was referring to as made in the preceding statement.

You'll notice I left out the "re'necks" part because I hold no geographic bias beyond understanding of the statistical chance stereotypical ramifications of the place of upbringing may or may not have had on a person.

Unfortunately brevity being the soul of wit, One Liners rarely can capture all the nuances of a given issue or group of issues.

I don't despise religion even though its not my cup of tea. thinking its a virus doesn't equate to the subscribers being morons. I'd like to see some of that documentation.

your opinion. I think if your primary purpose of owning a gun is to hunt for food it is inherently human. we've been hunting for food since we dropped out of the trees and stood up.

Isn't violent in any way and sees no problem with target shooting. the rest I agree with you on.
Stormtrooper53
*loves target shooting, too. ESPECIALLY if the targets are cute and fuzzy like squirrels.*

http://kspark.kaist.ac.kr/jesus/intelligen...%20religion.htm

http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/religion_vs_iq.html

Now the second link is great because it’s a pro religion source that verifies the study. It then goes on to show that the well being of the people studied also goes down and says “see it’s not because of religion”. However this argument is backwards, the study did not say religion makes you unintelligent, or even uneducated, it says if you are unintelligent and undereducated you are more likely to be religious.

This also ties into the view of religion as a memetic virus. Part of its “survival mechanism” is that it offers false hope to the screwed. So the ascertain that the trend toward religion is more related screwedness than intelligence doesn’t really fly, partially because the answer is, Both, and partially because the screwed are more likely to be less verifiably intelligent anyway. (Via poor nutrition, education, ect.)

A: I hate when people mention that my opinion is "my opinion". So what? I'm supposed to have no opinion? Your opinion? I mean really, WTF is that for?

B: Violence having purpose or being natural does not make it "non-violent". I make this distinction because the act I was being questioned on was referring to guns as being violent. They are. Their broader legal ramifications are a larger topic. However... shooting things is violent, and guns serve no other function but shooting things or the threat of shooting things. (except the antique, Toy and decorative variety)
