So I picked up Animated Blackarachnia today. When I got home and took it out of the package, her right leg fell off. After a closer look I became really pissed off! It's ball joint was CRACKED. Thats right...right out of the package and it was broken. I have a few other of the toys and havn't had any of the problems people were having. This is just plain horrible.....

Man it really seems like the QC on the animated toys has been just total ass

Except when it hasn't been. People tend not to start topics like "OMG my Animated Prime wasn't fuxx0r3d when I opened it!"

It's also a case of more people who buy these things talking about it on these kinds of fora. There is no issue with Quality Control, people just talk about it more. Plus, they tend to forget past experiences, painting them pink with the sunglasses of subjective memory recall.

I don't think it's a quality control issue, these things happen! I'm not devastated, it just means I have to make an extra stop on my way home and pick up another one. The Wal-Mart by my house has tons of Blackarachnia figures on the wall for some reason.

My Blackarachnia's retractable web-claw thing broke pretty easily. I went back to the store, returned it for a new one. The new one was broken right out of the box.

I don't know, I bought all the current deluxe leader and voyager figs save for bulkhead, and outside of 3 they're all crap QC wise. I've gotten crappy figures in a line before, but never a line of crappy figures.
It took 4 times before I got a Lockdown who's leg would stay on.

I personally am not pleased with the plastic quality. It feels NICE and STURDY but it's SOFT. The balljoints started out nice and stiffy, but then they went loose to all hell within 10 transforms on my Cybertron Prime.
My Prime was not fuxxored out of the box, he was fuxxored out of the factory.

If your local store runs out of BAs, you can always make a trip down to Ottawa.
I say this because today's the last day for b1g1free on animated deluxes.
And you know what we got left? Like
30 freakin' BAs and no other deluxes.Which actually doesn't bother me, as it probably means wave 3 of the deluxes are coming soon.
Now if only they would b1g1 free on any/all the movie stuff.....

ON TOPIC: I on average have to return about one in every 15 or 20 or so toys, due to damage, paint, or it's plain old crappy. Usually because it's broken.

my voyager Lugnut has a broken cockpit. the two halves won't stay together in alt mode. came like this out of the box. it sucks because i only spent 20 bucks on it to complete the wave so now it seems like a total waste!

That's not broken. Push one in before the other and they'll stay.

Bought Black Arachnia this weekend.
No problems whatsoever, and the paint aps aren't even fuxxored.
Getting her to stand however....

I agree. I had settled on 'standing there' for a pose, but now I've got her in bot mode hanging upside down from her grapnel, arms outstretched to ambush two-pack Prime.

Now I'm worried about my Cybertron mode Prime. His arm's starting to come loose at the same place the other one came loose on. Right arm ball joint. It looks as though they put a resin there to keep it stiff but it only last for just so long. Think I'll stick with classics. ^_^

Well what'd you know, I already fuxxored her grappling hook.
Didn't wreck it or tear the string, but the string itself in caught and won't retract or pull out.
Taking it apart doesn't look like much of an option because it has one screw and the plastic looks sealed around.
Won't lose any sleep over it, it's only a toy and I never really cared much for the grappling gimmick any way.
Matt- Nice pic, great pose.
I've gotten her to stand but she needs to arch her back a bit to do it. Also her high healed look doesn't work well for balance so I keep her lower legs together. Helps a bit to keep her upright. Arms are a bit of nuisance and she really needs wrist swivel so she can do more with her hands.

It sounds to me like alot of these "QC" issues could be solved with a little super glue in the joint, and then keep moving it.
