FanofTransformers has next week's Autobot Camp up on YouTube.

Waspinator and Shockwave! PWN!
Nice Cliffjumper cameo as well.

Great episode.
Ultra Bumblemus
I downloaded it on Mininova all I have to say that it was :ausum
Blitz-Wing
Very nice for a flashback episode

Longarm = Junkwave (Shockwave)=g1-OptimusPrimeAniLevelup.gif, so much for the Ironhide theory

Waspinator being the same protoform as Bumblebee was sweet

Cliffjumper cameo = g1-OptimusPrimeAniLevelup.gif

Best line: Wasp - Numbnodes optimuslaugh2.gif
Darth Caine
Can somebody here explain why the rush? I mean, where did it first aired? Don't say Dubai, bcause that's not an English channel obviously.

EDIT :: Downloading the Torrents, but still curious. O_o

Ultra Bumblemus
did anyone noticed that cliffjumper was with Sentienel in one of the parts?
Hobbes-timus Prime
Great episode.

The "name origin" scene was well done, and I have a feeling the establishment of "protoform molds" is one of those things that's gonna stick around and get retconned into everything. I also loved the establishment of Wasp(inator) and his motivation. Looking forward to seeing him make it to Earth. Also, if Shockwave's toy's head transforms like that, I'll be a giddy little girl.

Well doesn't TFA run on Nick Toons in the UK?

Great episode....astroid sized chin!!! clap.gif

And I loved Wasp's "Waspinator" voice at the end.

Another thing. You think Hasbro can do some more of those Cybertron forms? I hope so. I really liked them.

Oh well, but I didn't knew they're THAT fast.

So, UK NickToons = the new YTV. skeletor.png awesomeji1.gif awesomeji1.gif

Way to establish 2 repaints of bumblebee in one episode.

Over all this was a great episode full of little nudges and nuances. I especially liked that "Minor" is a rank just like "Prime" I bet it makes This Guy happy anyway.
masterminicon
Are toy versions of Wasp and possibly Cliffjumper planned. Cliffjumper's head was actually a little different from Bumblebee's.
Darth Caine
I'd expect Waspinator to appear on Earth, or maybe still on Cybertron for the upcoming season 3, but takes alt-mode of transmetal warp. optimuslaugh2.gif
Darth Caine
OMG! CLIFFJUMPER!!!! LOL

And laughlol.gif at Sentinel's "Oh slag.."

Also, I like the way they explains why the Elite-Guard-commander material like Wasp could turns up to be a mentally challenged bot. Yeah, prison life's harsh. Jail him together with the Cons, and he'll eventually be one. Poor Wasp..
Agent TMan
Should I use spoiler tags? If you are here then you musta watched this on Youtube on in the UK right. If you haven't and you dont wanna be spoiled, get outta here Stupid!!

Any way, I love how they explain why Wasp is crazy. The Autobots really do have flaws just like the cons have been saying. Seems to me, if a Bot goes traitor, there data tracks should be viewed to prove their innocence. Maybe they tried that and that's why he's crazy now?

Until this ep, I thought the main Autobots didn't know Sentinal Prime? What's up with that?
Father Time
I think it's just too bad that they had Tom Kenny do Wasp. He's a good voice acotr, but he doesn't have the knack for Waspy's voice that Scott McNeil had.

EDIT: Mind you, still clap.gif for Waspy!

Agreed. Plus, in a round-about way, it's fitting for Waspy to be voiced by the same guy that does Starscream. I just wonder if the use of Tom Kenny was just for "Wasp", then Waspy at the end of the episode, then whenever he appears next will be voiced by Scott McNeil? Kind of use the voice change to show further decline of Wasp's mental state or something?

Was it me, or was all of the recuits in Bumblebee's group meant to be un-likable? Wasp and Ironhide were both a couple of jerks. Actually, did it seem like Wasp was portrayed how you'd kind of expect Mirage to be?

With that said, I'd still want a toy of Cybertron mode Wasp. I think Hasbro could do a wave of Cybertron-based toys, and I'd buy them.

Wow! They really improved again in this episode. I loved every bit of it.

I am surprised by Bumblebee's Cybertron alt-mode. His whole bot mode screamed G1 Cybertron mode. It also looks like they're trying to steer clear of hovercars, which is fine by me.

While I fear for the inevitable repaints, it's cool to see an actual explaination for having roughly identical shapes.

Actually, in the episode where Magnus, Sentinel and Jazz arrive Bumblebee is wondering if Sentinel still remembers them. IIRC it was during the decontamination scene.
Michael Dracon
Is it me or did we get to see the first example of a Transformer reformatting back to a Cybertron mode? I got a bit lost in the timeline going back and forth, but I'm pretty sure Sentinel going after Wasp was in the present. And Sentinel was clearly sporting a new 6-wheeled mode.

Just wanted to chime in:

I think this was one of the best eps yet. Shockwave at the end being voiced by the same G1 VO was awesome. You gotta give it up for the guys making this show. They are really doing a great job with paying homage to G1 and the fans.

I'm more surprised as to how they can manage to pay homage to Beast Wars without going overboard. Blackarachnia, the Vok, and now Wasp(inator). They really made good use of the whole bee/wasp thing here.

Also, did Bumblebee call Bulkhead Mudflap as a nickname or an actual name in the (re?)naming line-up? I'm surprised that Bumblebee didn't say 'How about Goldbug?' when Sentinel was thinking of renaming him. That would have been well within the cocky character of Bumblebee at that time, and another very cool G1 reference. Oh well, can't have everything.

They were using Mudflap as an insult.

I think Wasp and Ironhide first called Bumblebee that, and Bumblebee started calling Bulkhead that to "fit in".

My guess is Sentinel reverted back to his Cybertronian form after leaving Earth.
Autobot Sari
A truly excellent episode. I was thrilled to see Cliffjumper, and Sentinel's early job as well as his re-Cybertron'ing for his alt mode. (I bet Jazz kept his, though. He seemed very pleased with his Earth-alt mode, as Jazz would be. icon_wink.gif And Magus probably doesn't care enough to change back)

But the real treats were the surprises. I can't believe I missed it, but it took until the voice reveal that Wasp=Waspinator. Awesome job there. And even though it was "It's a kid show" obvious that Longarm was the spy, I did NOT see it coming that he was actually Shockwave. I REALLY hope that the Shockwave toy is also a Longarm toy. That would be too cool biggrintf.gif

This definitely was one of my favorite episodes yet.

Well excuse me but I personally feel that she's too similar to her Universe counterpart.

You mean her Beast Wars counterpart?

And no, she's not. She's as close to BW Blackarachnia as Animated.png Bumblebee is to G1 Bumblebee. A nice homage, a few similarities in character, but a completely independent character in her own right. Enough with the "Doom and Gloom/Animated's sexist" speak.
Goktimus Prime
A nice ep. smiletf.gif I hope that if Wasp and Cliffjumper get toys, that they will at least have different heads from Bumblebee. They're not exact repaints of Bumblebee in the show - both sport distinctly different heads. And the Bumblebee head/face definitely doesn't suit either of them, especially Wasp. It'd also be neat if he changes his name to "Waspinator" later - or maybe if someone called him that as an 'insult' or something. Heh. icon_wink.gif

I agree with Autobot Sari - although having Longarm as the spy was really obvious, I didn't see him being Shockwave; that was a nice surprised. Ditto Wasp = Waspinator, I didn't pick that up until he started talking like Waspinator at that Space Bridge. Noice!

I also like how Sentinel was called "Sentinel Minor" when he was just a drill sergeant. Another nice BW reference.
l2c
Sentinel was much more likable as a drill sergeant than as he was on earth, that's for sure ^^
And they can't just repaint Bumblebee to make Wasp or Cliffjumper, cause of Bumblebee's altmode. They can't all choose Fanzone's car as an earth alt mode, or in Cliffjumper's case, as he's not been and doesn't look he's gonna be on earth, he would'nt have an earth mode at all. So they kinda have to make a new one for atleast CJ.
And I'd pay extra if the Shockwave toy has a real glowing eye (or at the very least, some great lightpiping). Wonder how they'll do his Longarm "shape" on the toy :<

Possibly because Bumblebee was acting like a massive d!ck too - kinda overshadowed Sentinel's regular knobbiness. icon_wink.gif

In theory there's nothing stopping them from all scanning Fanzone's car... you're right, it'd be really nice if they did have different alt modes, even if they just removed the siren - make them civvie versions of Fanzone's car (which is meant to be an unmarked police car anyway).

But given the slews of attempts from Hasbro attempting to pass off red Bumblebees as Cliffjumper, I would be happy if they just gave us a repaint with a retooled head. Having new alt modes would be sweet - even if it was the same transformation scheme, some same robot mode parts (i.e.: just different head and vehicle mode kibble) - just like in G1! Now that'd be sweet. smiletf.gif

The lightpiping alone would work well and be a cheaper alternative. I'm personally not a big fan of electronic gimmicks on most TFs.

They could either make it slide/spring out like like with BW(N) Long Rack - doesn't have to be spring loaded though, it could also just be a manual slide. Or swing/spring out like with Moofie Barricade.

Don't forget, that in Animated, Prime isn't a name, but a rank. Hence why Sentinal and Optimus are both called Prime. Minor is clearly another rank. I'm willing to bet that Ultra Magnus, some part of his name is also a rank. Wouldn't know which part though.
Goktimus Prime
Yeah I know, so the "Sentinel Minor" thing works on several levels - maintaining continuity with the fact that "Prime" is a rank and also being a BW Easter Egg reference to Optimus Minor. icon_wink.gif It'll be interesting if we were to see a character with the "Major" rank (as a reference to Rodimus Major - god that was an awful name) - but it'd be neat to see maybe Optimus or Sentinel in another flashback where they're called maybe "Sentinel Major" or "Optimus Major," perhaps establishing it as a rank above Minor but below Prime. I'd also like to see a Prime Nova (or Nova Prime) Easter Egg. icon_wink.gif

QUOTE (WTF)
Didn't Fanzone's car get 'sploded in Velocity?

Hmmm... well they could still scan the basic vehicle upon which it's based - as it's meant to be an unmarked police car w/ the strobe light attachment. So yeah, if they do use the Bumblebee mould they should definitely remove the strobe light.

Yup... no strobe, new heads. That's the way to go for Animated Cliffjumper and Wasp. Oh yeah, also no more sloppy paint jobs like with Bumblebee. icon_sad.gif The prototype colours on Bumblebee look nice - far more show-likeness with the additional black accents (and show-likeness aside, it just looks nicer as it breaks up all that yellow). I don't know why Hasbro abandoned those black accents... and the more pronounced headlight decos.

Here's a comparison between the actual Animated Bumblebee toy and its prototype in terms of show likeness. I've created a "simulated" black hand using MS Paint - not pretty, but you get the idea. If TakaraTOMY's version was more like the prototype - and especially if they added the black on the hands (the yellow kneecaps I can live without) I would seriously consider getting it.

P.S.: the stripes on the sides of the head also need to be coloured in black
JustLOKIPLVY
Great episode.

Loved the running gag where Bumblebee keeps get caught by Sentinel for something and everybody ends up doing push ups because of it. Classic gag from every military comedy ever made.

Also wasn't surprised by Longarm being being insider. Too trusting, and if he knew so much about the traitor why wouldn't he have gone and exposed him for himself rather than coaching Bumblebee through it. Didn't expect Shockwave at the end, and though I knew it was Longarm I couldn't help but dismiss the idea because of the Iron hide rumor.
Whisky Tango Foxtrot
Somehow I don't think Wasp is going to have any vehicle as his altmode when/if he becomes a regular character and gets a toy, so I don't think having him be a Bumblebee repaint is an issue. Personally, I'm hoping that they make a Cliffjumper toy with a Cybertronian altmode and then make a new Bumblebee toy that's a redeco of that.

When Bumblebee saw Magnus' hammer in action for the first time he said "Now I understand why they call him 'Ultra'." I'm also inclined to say that the Supreme part of Omega Supreme is there for a similar reason.

In theory, to get everything straight, he should have been called Magnus Ultra. Though it's obvious why didn't do that.

I'm hoping they make Waspinator stick with his Cybertronian car form. He's crazy enough not to be bothered with getting something else. That and the car form is very cool. After that they can do whatever repaint they want and I won't get.

while I really dig Wasp I know his toy will be BB with a new head. I'm not too fussed about that its a good toy but the cybertron mode for that "chassis" is sweet so its a shame their might never be a toy of it.

Have you seen the Elite Guard Bumblebee toy?

My guess is that he'll get another shot at the Elite Guard in Season 3. (And probably leave so as not to diss/lose his friends.)

I would laugh for a solid five minutes if, when he gets his Elite Guard deco, he says something like, "Wow! I feel like a gold bug...!"

And Sentinel Prime says, "And from now on... You have K.P. duty. That's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've EVER heard you say."

Talk about a fanwank-tacular episode. I especially liked how they established that some bots are just gonna be remolds of each other. optimuslaugh2.gif

But man, the thing that really got me -- which was more of an unspoken subtext in the episode -- is the fact that Bumblebee totally fucked somebody's life by falsely accusing him of treason! That's not very ...happy, you know?

I did really like getting to see how Bumblebee and Bulkhead met. I also liked how they were given their "names" by their drill sergeant. Which does help to offset some of the name gheyness. I'm also digging how the robots have "powers," and they're specifically referred to as such. Kind of a call-back to the original Transformers concept (Budiansky'D).

Definitely a lot of fun. Though I totally called that the bot with the black and teal was gonna be the bad guy. optimuslaugh2.gif But "Shockwave" was a.... um, shock.

I'd love to see a Wasp(inator) toy that turns into something totally different, like (say) a jet or something. Hell, make him turn into a bug. Why not. optimuslaugh2.gif

I want them to make Wasp turn into a techno-organic insect mostly because I don't have a Beast Wars Waspinator figure. Also, the pictures I've seen of BW Waspinator haven't impressed me much, with the tiny head and huge torso endemic to most BW figs. I think something in the Animated style would be a better representation of the Waspinator character than his original toy was.

I like the way they are building character specific animosity between the decepticons and autobots. BA and prime, wasp and bumblebee, ratchet and lockdown.
I think as thw series goes on those personal relationships will matter more during the fights. there are feelings of remorse and guilt, grudges, revenge, long standing feelings driving a fight. It builds substance to the conflicts IMO.
