You tech guys might like this...

I wanted to post the specs of the computers I am in charge of at work... I started it then the browser crashed. So I will get the specs tomorrow and post them. To tide you over... I am currently running two domains, one on the corporate network (WTFHAX) and one on a private/testing network (SHARK). I am in charge of 5 computers currently... They are:

1. my workstation, which is the only computer on the corporate network to be running as a domain controller, and not have a user account part of the domain. It is called DS1-SKYLYNX. Skylynx is the #1 blame for network issues, as I know because either my phone rings, i get an email, or someone comes to tell me I must have broke something. It hosts the domain WTFHAX.

2. my test server, which I've been experimenting using WDS and Active Directory. It is named UNCLESOCKS. It hosts the domain SHARK.

3. the old image server, which runs a 4 drive RAID-5 in which one of the drives has fallen off the array permantently. If it wasn't so valuable it would be garbage.

4. My test computer, which I use to test various images. It was recently upgraded.

5. My NEW test server, which had its RAIDs set up today, but nothing much done with it yet.

To keep you tool tided over until I post the specs, here is a "hint" :

Today was really busy (and partly annoying) so I was only able to get info on my workstation. Here are the specs:

Computer Name: DS1-SKYLYNX
Domain: WTFHAX
OS: Server 2003 Standard SP2
Motherboard: Intel 945GNT
RAM: 1GB
CPU: Pentium 4 3.2GHz with Hyper-Threading enabled
Video1: onboard Intel Graphics 128MB
Video2: nVidia GeForce 4 MX 4000 AGP 8x 128MB
HDD: Western Digital 80GB SATA
NIC1: Intel Pro 1000 PT Desktop Adapter
NIC2: Netgear FA311 PCI Adapter
Optical: some Lite-On DVD+/-R/RW dual layer CD-R/RW ATAPI
Monitors: 2x AOC 17" LCD
Roles: (FYI servers have specific roles, which basically mean which additional components are installed from the Windows CD) ... Active Directory Domain Controller (WTFHAX.mycompanyname.com), DHCP (disabled), IIS, Terminal Server, Windows Deployment Server
Apps: Scite AutoIT v3, Dragon UnPACKer 5, Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 and Flash MX 2004, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Windows OPK (current version), Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird, Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, MySQL, Nero 7, PHP 5, Symantec Ghost 7.5, vLite (a tool for creating unattended Vista images/installs) and Microsoft Excel 2003.

Today I also submitted a list of names for what the new test server will be called. I typed them all out to make sure they were easy to type, and I wanted them to be fairly short, as compared to the names the old network guys gave to the servers. They are: Prowl, Brawn, Gears, Steeljaw, Ruckus, and a couple others. So far its looking like it will be called Gears but we'll see what happens.
