I saw this trailer before Prince Caspian and it (alone among the lame trailers) looked really interesting and potentially cool to me. Bill Murray and Tim Robbins in a weird Gilliam-lite kind of future movie? Sounds cool to me. Anyone know about this or the book(s) it's based on?

The plot synopsis of this looks so interesting, I'm gonna stop reading it and look for the book to get it in full.

Edit #2: Just got City of Ember and the sequel book. Will see how these pan out..

Wall E was predictable but still looks to be a lot of fun.

The books actually seem like pretty short reads, of the I'm-gonna-finish-these-in-a-few-days-and-that's-while-doing-a-buncha-other-crap-at-the-same time sort. Unfortunately, the books are already working their charm on me even though I saw the trailer first, because the plot synopsis and writing style are already creating an entirely different vision than the clean, shiny setting I saw in the trailer.

This book is pretty damn good.
Just finished it last night. Totally awesome. I highly recommend grabbing a copy (library/store) and reading it. Can be done in a night.

I'm halfway through the sequel, the People of Sparks, now.

Hmm.. there's a 4th book coming out in late August.

Note: The book is one of those that are most interesting if you read it blind, as in not even watching the trailer or knowing anything about it. That is, if you haven't already. But that's just cream on the top.
