Is it difficult to apply for citizenship? How long it would take for an immigrant from Asia? And actually, how high are the living standard on USA if compared to most Asian countries?

Living standard:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_United_St...nd_social_classPretty high, but there's a fairly broad range all over the map.
The rest, dunno.

Some of my buddies already moved to either Singapore or Australia, the two nearest and most-developed nations, and persuaded me but I have little to no interests on those two, and thinking of moving to USA and start another chapter of my life there instead. But gotta make sure everything first.

That's probably the only thing I've ever tasted that has been capable of scarring a person mentally.

Yeah, I don't really like it.
I've always assumed it became a national cultural icon during the war or something when people were only allowed to eat dirt because of rationing...

As long as they'd have to drive to the riot, I think we're safe.

Anyways, back to the point... I wouldn't bother unless you can verify you'll have a good job. While a lot of people "make-do" at the new poverty level, unless you want to deal with our BS economy, make sure you can get a job first. Typically if you have no outstanding expenses (a lot of US citizens have loan and credit expenses, child care costs, etc) you can live on $1000 a month. I am sure there are others out there who would say that a lower amount would also suffice, but I've been in those situations before and making over 1 grand a month is a goal (although I reached it recently). Anyways, as an example you aren't likely going to be very comfortable making $800 a month as it is difficult to find a place to live and keep your car going and all that. But other areas than mine might be better suited.
Sorry for the rambling.
Basically, make sure you can get yourself a job before coming over. Also check with us "americanos" to see what our personal economic living conditions are like, and based on areas of the country, etc.
Hope that helps a bit. I only stick on the job issue because in some areas (like mine) the employment market is pretty tough.
