Im thinking about getting a 1:24 Lancia Stratos Turbo model kit and try to reshell an ALT. Any suggestions on which Alt might work best? im thinking about Lambor or deadend because of the windshield chest?

Yeah, I'm thinking along those lines, Deadend or Sunstreaker are probably better than Sideswipe though due to the slightly different transformation. Keep the roof of the Stratos attached to the windshield for WJ's chest for G1 accuracy, it's probably easier than trying to replicate it on the section that becomes the rest of the chest on the Viper molds.

I have also seen WJ mods done on the corvette molds, but they were repaint/headswaps not reshells.

I used that actual 1/24 scale Lancia Stratos Turbo kit by Tamiya for the shell.

Awesome! I knew there had to be some out there. I plan to use the Tamiya kit as well. Those look great. really captured the G1 look. I probably try my hand at using the Corvett. @jaf when im ready to start i might have some questions for ya

Scorch Unit, you're right it's not . it's smaller than the 1/24 standard. shinjikun1, good luck with this. JAF's wheeljack was a definite inspiration to mine. the more wheeljacks the merrier. Hope you keep this thread updated. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Hit me up anytime for advice shinjikun1. It's an extensive modification but the reason I used the vette was the arm configuration. It really gave the Wheeljack transformation a G1 starting point. I just wish I had telescoping legs when I made it. You might want to use alt Skids legs somehow.
