I was just wondering if anyone heard about where Botcon 2009 could possibly take place? Since the next Transformer film comes out in 2009 I am assuming that it will take place around June or July and possibly be in Road Island again. Because of where Hasbro is located, which would be cool with me since I didn't get to go on the tour in 2007. Plus I would love to arrive earlier and spend some time in Boston ( it was like 30 minutes away by train and the ticket was like 15 bucks for a round trip). But another part of me would love to see it somewhere else I have never been to or wouldn't mind seeing, like New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Texas, Vermont, Maine, or Florida.
Also if the good people responsible for Botcon really want to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Transformers, they could hold the event in Oregon and find a way to make the entrance to the convention look like the Ark has crashed into a dormant volcano. But that would of course be a lot of money and I think they are trying to cut down on costs. Oh and I would definitely try to get one of the actors from the live film to make an appearance, as well as the voice actors from as many incarnations of the show as possible. Since it will be 25 years of Transformers in all it's many forms. Maybe some of teh original Japanese toy design staff as well?
If anyone else has any ideas, thoughts or suggestions please let me know. Also is there a way to make suggestions directly to the Botcon team? I do not post here all that often so I am maybe a bit out of touch. Thanks and see everyone in 2009!

Themes?
I'd say that completing sets that pretty much all of the fans want
DON'T MENTION THE SEEKERS!!! say for example if Hasbro release the a couple of the Stunticons then PLEASE DON'T release the others & leave people who can't afford it/won't pay out of principle/etc stuck without them.
On the other hand they DO have to be highly desirable...
How about a G2 set? That wouldn't make them OMG I MUST HAVE THEM for everyone, but I reckon they'd still be highly sought after. Probably easy to do too.

Thirded, but would prefer somewhere a bit more central - London perhaps?

Yeah London would be cool but their should also be the regular US show at the same time
as for theme maybe a cross over them? have classics prime with the movie paint job etc or maybe no theme like the time lines set with death saras

BS Liverpool or even Chester would be more central. London would be a waste of time for many people with the overpriced hotels/food Jeez Central so a suggestion of one of the most southerly places...

Too much goes to London already, UK means ALL the UK not just the south needs access. Liverpool is quite cheap for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to reach and is quite affordable when in town. Oh yea and NO CONGESTION CHARGE!

london is central in the sense that there's more people there (probably)

How about Blackpool? There is a big hotel there that usually hosts big Star Trek conventions, and that would be great for hosting a TF 'con!! Plenty of cheap hotels, decent places to eat, and relatively easy to get to..

everyone can commute to london easily though - if it was held anywhere else in the country a lot of people would have to travel through london anyway
plus it's the countries capital (just saying)

Well, London is still my first choice. But Blackpool ain't a bad alternative, since I kinda know my way around (to a certain degree). The one advantage of living near to London is that there are a few hotels in my town - which I assume are cheaper than London itself - plus I can kinda act as a tour guide

Well...The people who put the show on are based here in the DFW Texas area...I say have it here in Texas!! Arlington to be exact. Centrally located to the metroplex. We've got a convention center and hotel that would be more than enough space for the event. It's an easy drive to DFW Airport. Also, with the new Cowboys stadium going in, they've been building hotels like crazy. Oh AND we've got a major theme park as well as a major water park all within walking (or a very short shuttle ride) from most of the new hotels AND convention center.
Heck they are doing the GI Joe collectors club convention in Frisco (up North a bit from Dallas). Why not do Botcon or ANY TF Con in this area!!

I'd love it if BotCon would expand. It'd give alot more fans a chance to go if it was quartly or so. The demand is obviously there, and what would they have to do, ship some displays and contact local vendors.
I live just outside of the MeadowLands, and NYC, there are convention centers galore, and I know how it works as part of my job is holding various display shows of this sort. It's not that hard to organize.
But on the topic of maybe where, I'm gonna say The MeadowLands. Plenty of room, hundreds of nice hotels, it's a hair outside of NYC, and about an hour and a Half from Philly, half hour from Conneticut, plenty of airports for people flying in, and I can walk there.
Then again, I this is gonna be my first BotCon, and I'm gonna make a vacation out of it, so I'd realy like Vegas, or Honalulu, you know, someplace nice.

Well, since it will be around (I'd say) the second TF movie release, have it in Rhode Island again. That Botcon rocked!
