Just watched it off of a torrent. Not that great of an episode. Wreck Gar was pretty annoying, and he was teamed up with the angry archer for part of episode. Not a good combo.

I loved it. Mainly because of all the geek-out moments:
- Remember the adult Spike Witwicky and Carly from the intro-movie? they're actually called Spike and Carly!
- Universal Greeting FTW!
- Ratchet: "You wouldn't dare to do something that stupid!" Wreck-Gar: "I DARE to be stupid!"

And Lugnut actually had his mace this time!
Very cool episode. Loads of G1 references. Though I din't really like they way they portrayed Wreck-gar. I liked him better quoting TV commercials.

I really liked this episode! It was simple but well done.
Even Angry Archer didn't irk me so much because unlike his last appearance, he actually contributed to the story! And it was also cool how he relied more on his grappling hook and Batman/Spiderman/Daredevil-esque skills instead of goofy gimmicked arrows - far less campy.
I also really liked the way that Wreck Gar was written. So innocent and pure of heart. The character also created a good moral for the story - that just because someone may seem stupid or is ignorant, doesn't give someone the right to treat them as an inferior. The moment when Ratchet apologised to him and treated him as a peer was very heart-warming.
It was also cool how they explained the name Wreck Gar.
You could also definitely tell that it was Weird Al Yankovic voicing Wreck Gar - and I like how Wreck Gar actually
looks like Weird Al too!

Haven't laughed that good in awhile. Goofy episode, but sometimes goofy is good. And enough fanwank to make a mess. Nice to see Corey Burton return to his "roots".
Oh, and the way Megatron twitched his eye when Lugnut went into his patronizing =

Goktimus Prime
May 3 2008, 08:58 PM
I like how Wreck Gar, like his G1 counterpart, is really a non-aligned/factional "neutral" Transformer who eventually decides to ally with the Autobots - but isn't really an Autobot.

Lockdown is another Transformer who has no true alignment - although Lockdown is downright malicious whereas Wreck Gar has a childlike spirit of innocence and wonder about him which is quite endearing.
But the difficult question is whether or not Wreck Gar is carrying a shard of the AllSpark within him and if that shard is the only thing that gives him life or if Sari's key reacted with the shard and gave birth to a new Spark within Wreck Gar. I suspect it's the latter - because it would really suck if they had to kill Wreck Gar in order to rebuild the AllSpark.
It's quite a different level of morality in terms of removing the AllSpark shard from Starscream, who is undead - he had a Spark and it was extinguished; and Starscream is currently living in a blasphemous state of undeath.

seeing him swim with the fishes and a sad face made me think he was toast....almost made me sad I'm glad to see he is indeed not and I do hope he manages a comeback. Weird Al was awesome and the fanwank kicked ass. I can't wait for the toy now. <that's a weird thing. used to be I'd buy the toy because I liked the look and feel. "Green "Fifth Wheel" Arrow." - Spiderman (

QUOTE
Many early TTT strips featured several DC Comics characters, such as a pompous Superman, Batman being very confused at how everyone knew he was Bruce Wayne, and Green Arrow lamenting that archery was a lame superpower. DC didn't take the jokes very well, and filed a cease and desist order, preventing TTT from ever using DC characters. TTT writers not-so-subtly poke fun at this with rare appearances of "Pumpkin-Man", a Batman Mego figure with a costume recolored to orange and purple and a pumpkin image replacing the Bat-symbol; even rarer are appearances of a similarly-altered Robin figure as Pumpkin-Man's sidekick, "Squash". At other times, Marvel characters have shushed DC references ("Ix-nay on the DC oke-jays!"), while in a Matrix parody, Mego Spidey encountered a "Crippled, web-savvy, redheaded secretary." who he mistakenly thought was the Oracle; she was quick to correct him by saying "Heavens, no! That would be too close to a DC Comics copyright infringement."

Loved this episode. Which is surprising because I really don't care for Wierd Al. Not since Highschool anyway.
Gotta say though, as an actor he pulled off Wreckgar wonderfully. The character model alone was a perfect match. Really enjoyed the child like characterization and the way Al made everything so unbelievably damn funny. Lugnut and Wreckgar were roffles all around.
Personally I think this has been one of the best scripted episodes yet. In twenty minutes it pulls so much together and seemlessly too. Talk about subplots ahoy. I can't believe anybody has yet to mention Ratchet and how he literally stole the show from the beginning. This whole story was practically about Ratchet and his inability to cope\work with others. Fanwank aside I absolutely loved how Ratchet is completely oblivious to the humans around him. The rushing Carly and Spike to the hospitable bit was hilarious. She aparently pregnant and just about gets killed in most of the shots. Is that is bad taste to endanger a pregnant woman like that or does just about anything go in cartoons these days?

Though it's not exactly Ratchet's fault, (doesn't know a thing about human anotomy) but he could have sure been a hell of a lot more courteus about it.
Angry Archer wasn't too bad, and he fit the plot well. I also liked how the episode was able to tie in the Decepticons with everything happening.
Will I get a Wreckgar toy. Not keen on having a garbage truck that transformers into Wierd Al Yankovic but I'll wait and see what Hasbro comes up with.

Anyone who has a problem with this episode has some screws loose. This was a plain awesomely entertaining episode. I think animated Wreck-Gar is one of my new all time favorite transformers. I am Definitely getting the figure when it comes out.
"I am Wreck-Gar, I knock things over!"
But yeah, Wreck-Gar's awesomeness aside, It was a good Ratchet episode too. I loved the scene where Ratchet's arguing with the old guy and Fanzone had to be the one to break it up.
Oh yeah, and it was also interesting to see Lugnut actually use his mace weapon; since up until this point I thought it was merely a toy gimmick.

Wreck-Gar got on my nerves just a bit (hope he moves from childlike to pop savvy and ADD) but the episode itself was great.
It was a bit weird to see a pregnant Carly in so much danger...
And unless I misunderstood things, Lugnut is either gone or going to need SERIOUS repairs. Aside from the Undead Starscream, this is the first time I recall seeing a Transformer destroyed with no clue he was alive at the end (ala Soundwave, Wreckgar, Megatron, etc.)
It sure seems like Spike and Carly are increasing in prominence. This is their fourth or fifth appearance and they actually got speaking lines (and refered to by name) this time.
I'm kinda hoping they take in Sari at some point now.
Y'Know what would be cool? If they made some sort of reference to the Witwicky lineage, with Sam as Spike's 21st century ancestor, along with references to Buster, 19th century explorer Archibald Witwicky, etc.
What I'm imagining, albeit wanky and nutty (pardon the spontaneous fanfic):
"Two Heads Are Better Than One"
The Headmaster realizes that Allspark fragments can turn machines into robots and, getting his hands on one, attempts to transform a top secret new Sumdac installation called Fortress Maximus into the most powerful robot body of all. Spike approaches the Autobots; turns out he's a Sumdac engineer and his family is inside. While the Autobots keep Maximus busy, Spike befriends Bumblebee and Sari, who remind him of his own kids, and works with Ratchet, using the key, to develop a Headmaster suit of his own. He becomes "Cerebros", the Anti-Headmaster. Bumblebee and Sari get Cerebros close enough for Cerebros/Spike to take over Fortress Maximus out from under the Headmaster's control... and thankful for the Autobots helping him save his family, Spike promises to help the Autobots if they ever need it.
... And maybe decides to take Sari in?

Lugnut's fine. He only lost the tail end of his alt mode; which if it's anything like the toy, means he just lost his legs and mace weapon. That's not that serious for a transformer. Remember at the end of Lost and found, him and Blitzwing got more banged up then that. Especially Blitzwing.

We watched it on Saturday (me and the boys, that is). I loved Weird Al, and all the references to TF:TM were fun and unexpected in their frequency. ("I am Wreck-Gar! I dare to be stupid!") I was a little sad at the end

when I thought he'd been blown up. I would have preferred it to end that way, but I know it's a cartoon and you don't really do stuff like that in kids' shows.
