cant help but feel this will go the way of the thunder birds movie... down a road of fail
DarkNarcoleptic
I seriously doubt it. A lot of work has obviously been put into this.

And Thunderbirds was doomed from the beginning, sadly.

History has shown that means nothing.

Eh...nobody thought the Matrix would be an outstanding film.

Not saying Speed is going to break new cinematic ground...just that it will be enjoyable to watch with children. WTF does everyone want from this movie, anyway? Like anyone's ever seen more than 5 minutes of the original cartoon.

Except me >_>

I watched a shotload of that POS as a kid. Cartoon Network FTW... I guess(Not).

This is going to be ghey not because they're straying from the look and whatnot, but because of how they are. All the farging neon shot? It's like batman & Robin all over again, hence my linking to it.

Nothing wrong with like enjoyable to watch with children and shot. Nothing wrong with that at all. I expect Iron Man to be like that.

optimuslaugh2.gif Except Iron Man is likely also aimed at adults

I don't understand why "neon" = B&R/bad

Is it? I haven't been paying much attention to IM until the trailers came out on TV.

and I'll rephrase: MASSIVE OVERDOSES OF NEON=B&R

Put in caps for her pleasure.

I've been watching a lot of Asian cinema lately (which clearly the Wachowskis also do) and I get the impression that they are trying to make the kids version of a Miike film. (or like a Wong Kar-Wai film on speed)

(much like Kill Bill was essentially an American version of a Miike film - remember when Bride first lands in Tokyo - with her motorcycle and the neon?? Awesome!!)
Which pleases me to no end.

But the over saturated color scheme does not bother me one bit. American film could use more color.
I also have to question - whats wrong with color?

And from what i have read of initial reviews - most people have gone into this film hesitant and come out completely won over.

Batman And Robin was full of sarcasticpelicanlb2.gif for a billion reasons other than "neon". The Neon in and of itself was only a problem because it followed immediately on the heels of Bat-Burton.

I'm looking forward to this film a great deal.

I can't wait to see it, and I think the original show sucked super ballz.
