First off, to start with, I'm not fond with AppleMac.

But ever since I tried my friend's iPhone, it kinda tempting me. Local price is approx. @ US$585.
Now I'm currently using Nokia N73, already used this one for 1 year and 3 months.

So, any recommendations nor tips about iPhone? Yay or Nay?

If you got the money, then yay!!! I just don't c myself with any other phone in the future that isn't an iPhone. I'm just hoping the iPhone won't grow old on me, meaning it can stand up against all comers, 2-4 years or until the iPhone2. The sidekick has always caught my eye, and it looks like the next sidekick might possibly have windows mobile added to it.

There is one thing I hate about the iPhone and it comes in one word and four letters..... SYNC!! If you have like 6gb of videos converted specifically for the iPhone, you have to keep those 6gbs of videos on your comp the next time you sync or else the computer will delete those 6gb of videos off your phone. So if you care about your HD space, it pretty much of sucks. So pretty much everything has to match up on your phone and computer.

I fell in love with mine within the first hour of having it, I really really love my iPhone. Of course, I believe the G3 is scheduled for release this summer, and should be much faster on the net. If you don't mind spending the money for it, iPhone is such a nice little piece of technology to carry around in your pocket. I've used so many of the features I never expected to already.

Go iPhone!!!

The iPhone is pretty different from every other phone, it gets software updates so I really don't know how long they are gonna run with it before coming out with a next gen iphone. So 2-4 years is my estimate.

Is that a software update? I'm really unsure as to what the G3 problem is with the iphone. My current phone has it, and I knew that the iphone didn't. I just wasn't sure as to why, like is it a hardware or software kinda deal. The G3 broadband support is what's been keeping me from getting an iphone, but if they're getting it this summer or hopefully sometime this year I'm definitely using the service deposit I'm getting back this fall to grab an iphone.

If I remember correctly it should be a hardware upgrade, though I don't expect the external features to change at all, it's a really nice design in both form and function. Right now the phone uses either a WiFi connection or EDGE for internet connectivity, where-as the G3 iPhone will have broadband connection. Really, it's just going to increase web speeds, hooray for wireless broadband. Of course the EDGE connectivity does its job quite well, and though it's not as fast as broadband, it's still a decent connection speed. The "problem" that Apple has been having thus far with the G3 model is battery life. The first G3 iPhone functional test models were averaging 4-5 hour battery life, as opposed to the 50+ hour life on the current model. It's also been rumored that there will be another significant price drop along the time that the G3 is dropped...of course, they could just drop the price on the older ones to clear out warehouses full of phones and parts to make way for the newer version.

Again, I'm not completely positive on all this, but I'm fairly sure that that's what's going on.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up for me. I do hope you're right, and if you are I'm sold on an iphone.

u might consider the Instinct from sprint coming in june. its supposed to have a lot of the same or comparable capabilities and will be much cheaper. plus sprint is way ahead of at&t for web service. and u can use their 99 everything plan. with the iphone texting and internet are extra charges.

When I went on a recent business trip to Atlanta everyone had either Black Berries or I phones... That Iphone won hands down, its quite possibly the sweetest handheld device ever. This coming from somebody who has a historical prejudice about anything apple thats quite a statement.

have to say really wasnt impressed, not sure if its different model/software in the UK but reeeally didnt get on well with it, found the touch screen was nowhere near as precise as my old handset ( LG Viewty, k990 or something along those lines ) so ended up zipping around web pages etc. the internet was good on it though, and easy to use, but constant crashes, lack of an answer or quick ringback function and the sync as mentioned before meant ive gone back to my old LG, which has never given any hastle at all tounge1.gif
