I love the fact that Ultra Magnus sounds like Robert Stack. And his alternate form is pretty cool--definitely wouldn't mind picking up his toy format, if they make one.

Jazz was done perfectly. Enough of the familiar personality without overdoing it. Very good intros for both of these characters.

Oh, and more on Sari. I saw the "Sari/Robot" thread just under this one when I entered the forum just now, so I know that's a pretty hot issue. And just when everyone thought it was resolved when BA first showed up...

Overall a good episode. And we get to see proof of the Allspark existing in fragments.

I haven't seen it yet. Was watching Doctor Who, and now Confidential. Afterwards it's Animated. Yay

sentinel is as annoying as expected, ultra magnus is how he should've been in G1, awesome, logical, and an absolute beast. Jazz, well, he wins the internet.

And prime is really starting to become the confident, powerful leader we all know and love. how can animated be so good after such a mass of poor attempts post BW/BM?

RID and A/E/C had Japanese writers, BW/BM and Animated was/is written by North Americans. Western writers are more willing to invest time in characterisation than their Japanese counterparts, they are also much more skillful at it. Compare Blackarachnia to Chromia, Animated Starscream to Energon Starscream, Bulkhead to Armada Smokescrean ect.

The 4 post BW Japanese shows did have some bright points but nowhere near the consistency of Animated's excellence.

First of all, this episode is . Jazz is "new avatar" worthy.

One thing I noticed: Optimus Prime mentioned he and Sentinel Prime were of equal rank. He seemed to emphasize the "Prime" when he said it, as if Prime is their rank. They also seemed to allude that "Ultra" was Magnus's rank. Any chance that's the case? And if so, does Jazz have a rank suffix (or prefix) and simply isn't addressed by it?

I really want to see that toy now.

Whereas Sumdac playing God/Geppetto and letting his creation believe that it was human for its entire life is totally normal and fine.

but look at your options... yes, you're definitely right to be suspicious. Absolutely. But is the answer "she's inorganic?" Really?

Hey, the shot of the DNA convinced me she's at least partially organic.

I don't like the clone theory, because we haven't been given any set up as to whose clone she might be...so it feels a tad like a cheat. And Sumdac cloning someone close to him creeps me out. Besides, I think anyway you go with it you have to deal with Sumdac letting her believe she's something she isn't her whole life.

I'm convinced her existence is related to technology somehow - as in it's part of her - and I think thematically the show has been building that way for a while - from the microbot/roach fusion in "Transform and Roll Out!" to Blackarachnia to the Elite Guard's fear and distrust of organics...revealing that she's a robot/cyborg/techno-organic life form would give the writers so much to play with and so many ways to bring story threads together as Sari tries to cope with the news - I'll be shocked if it isn't the case.

I hope she doesn't turn out to be a robot build by Sumdac, because of aforementioned logical issues. However, there is obviously something going on here. What I think, and hope, is that she is a test-tube baby, made by a competitor of Sumdac Industries, and aquired through a take-over. Since she was legally property of whatever company produced her, and then became property of Sumdac Industries, there are no official documents of her, since she wasn't an actual person. Sumdac adopted her as his daughter, with her being whatever blend of organic and technological that allows her to grow, either both physically and mentally, or just mentally, to allow for her not knowing her first moments in life, like any human would, and the story went on from there.

It was just the first thing that came to mind. Not that I even know what N.G.E. is.

My larger point was that there's something going on with her, but I think that "robotics" is clearly the wrong conclusion. Sumdac's experiment with nanobots proved disastrous; I highly doubt that he would have had giant cockroach monsters running around if he had perfected the process eight or nine years prior.

But anyway... not to distract from the episode discussion
