What works best? Soap and water, alcohol, Goo Gone, misc. household cleaners?
By the same token, should I make a strong point to avoid any or all of the above cleaning agents? Any help or advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

I've always used a small amount of goo-gone on a q-tip and haven't had any problems.

toothbrush and water.
Do you use a hard-bristled toothbrush or a soft one... or does it really not matter?

Whenever I get any vintage piece off eBay or whatnot, it gets a thorough goo-gone bath and new stickers if available. You can slather that stuff on, scrub with a q-tip or soft-bristled toothbrush, and then wipe clean with a cloth and it makes your toys look like new again.
Plus they smell like oranges when you're done.
