I originally got a Rescue Ratchet to make into a movie Brawn, until i saw a small scale model of one of these..
Click to view attachmentA Psy ops Hummvee.
To me it just screamed out Soundwave,i mean how many military vehicles have a huge row of speakers on em.
So i took my Rescue Ratchet and turned him into this..

His Cannon is attached with rare earth magnets and is made from a gun from an old zoid (kannon zoid?)

He has a close assualt claw..

Wich Transforms into...

Bussaw.Who is made from one of the Classic mini-cons (Divebomb?)
Should have Alt mode pic`s up by the weekend, just waiting for the varnish to finish cureing.

Yeah, alt mode shots are a must.
This guy is solid. I love the shade of blue, I love the weathered look it has, I love the maskpiece (something I want to do on mine, simply because I don't like the mouth and sans-nose look he has), I LOVE the weapons...this guy is a total winner!

That's great! I hadn't thought of using a ratchet for Soundwave, but there you go. Perfect fit. I can't wait to see the truck mode.

Genious, just simply genious.
Me is liking it very much, the colors and paint look perfect on the mold, and the head looks very nice, and still movie-ish.
The cannon on the arm looks like it was an original part of the figure, and I love how you worked out the Buzzsaw figure's compatibility with soundwave.
Thumbs up!!

Wow, the alt mode looks amazing. I know you based it off a military design, but it looks like it would make a good police riot/protest control vehicle. Especially with the reinforced windows.
Hmm, the little frenzy from the first encounter pack might pose nice with him? Even if it doesn't transform.

I don't like the movie designs, but I like this. So it must be very well done!

BTW, is that a real vehicle? What's with the speakers, some sort of ultra-sonic crowd dispersal technology? If so, it's a perfect fit for a modern Soundwave. If not, well, it's still pretty damn cool!

Nothing THAT fancy - they're basically just really really big speakers. PSY-OPS vehicles like this are used for intimidation and information. They can play stuff like "if you throw down your arms and surrender, you will be treated fairly" or, say, the sound of a tank approaching or gunfire to scare people away, or really loud rock music to irritate them or whatever. Which is still pretty Soundwave-ish.

Not forgetting that the Navy/Army/Airforce now have those "Sonic" Active Denial Systems where they can use SOUNDWAVES to cause great pain or even terror in subjects at a distance. They are so effective Cruise Liners are now using them as Anti-Piracy devices.
Can the OP show or explain HOW that minicon fits to the arm?

First of all i cut off the handles of Ratchets axe, when the axe is extended out Bussaws legs fit in the gap left by the axe, then when the axe gets pushed back Bussaws head fits inbetween the axe blades.
Bussaws wings turn on there side and extend forward.
He fits in very well & is very sturdy, totaly addmit this was more luck than judgement.
Oh and thanks for all the kind words guys.

LOL Well I think it's quite clear to everyone now that I read far too much sci-fi!
Nevertheless, the choice of vehicle is inspired, and I'm sure Soundwave's speakers would have a higher degree of lethality than our wussy human ones.
In fact, can anyone tell me what scale the movie Ratchet figure is? Would it be at all comparable to the Alternators?

You know, I really like the movie line. Each and every figure I got I really, REALLY like.
But Ratchet...is the one purchase that I really don't like. Was already hesitant about getting him, but a) it was the first Ratchet figure in 20+ years and b) he was green (not enough green TF's IMO). But I found the the figure to be really disappointing. He's simply too big.
But this...this Soundwave of yours...it's a bloody marvel

It really looks amazing and if Hasbro would realease the Ratchet mold painted like this (even without all the little extra's you did), I'd buy it without any second thought.
Excellent work

I have to try this. First, I need to learn to paint, and sculpt, and all that other stuff you have to know to do things like this.
I was thinking that Movie Stockade would make a cool Animated Soundwave. They both sure have the monkey arms for it.
GREAT JOB

It gave me a McFarlane feel to it. Thats not bad either cuz id like to see Hasbro make a line of Tfs that have alot of detail to them one day. Prefferably Gen 1.

(sucker for G1) But the paint on this ALONE is well done, let alone the
TONS of detail. Well played!
