Like most gamers, I picked up Doom 3 two weeks ago, and I've been glued to my computer ever since. Even when I was in Seattle last week on vacation, I found myself on my laptop playing this wonderful game....sure, I only get like 3 FPS on my laptop, but those 3 frames were awesome. Just the other day I got it installed on my desktop(which has a 9800 Pro....thank goodness) and I started seeing the game the way it was meant to be seen....High Resolution. rodimusgrinstatic.gif

I'm curious how many Doom 3 players we have around here, and where you are in the game...

At the moment I'm in Delta Labs, Section 1....just about at the end of the level, though. I am having some trouble getting past these Elite Zombie Marines, though.....you know, the ones armed with chainguns.
Behold, Galvatron!
Waitng up on the Xbox version, if it comes out on time redface2tf.gif

Is it true its a remake of the first or is it a whole new story? I've heard conflicting reports on it....

Remake, and a good one at that.

It's a damn good game, good at scaring the crap out of ya. The feeling is quite reminescent of the first AvP as the marine, with all the lights out. I can't remember the level i'm at, but i'm at room where all the bodies are entombed in the spiderwebs from the ceiling...

Ive been playing it off and on for about a week now just because its so damn scary I cant sit and play for a long period of time.

This is the only game thats been stealing my time away from world of warcraft. Very frightening yeah, it also reminds me of the marine levels from AVP, but without that scanner beeping at you.

I havent gotten very far yet , i spend alot of time admiring the graphics.

I reeeeally want doom 3, but i need to upgrade my computer. Sure the minimum upgrade will cost like $250, but i wanna go for the gold! $800 it'll cost me. But hey, it'll put the upgrading off for like 3 years.

I'll agree....it is one hell of a creepy game. One second you're walking down a hallway, the next the screen turns blood red and someone is bellowing something very creepy in latin, the next you're being attacked from 3 sides by zombies, fire-throwing demons, and floating heads.

No thanks! I still get the creeps from playing NES Metroid!

It’s like a First person version of Resident evil. Its nerve-racking game play and for that I give id thumbsup1.gif The presentation is top notch. The technology in there is simply amazing. But only people that like having the crap scared out of them every few seconds should buy it. From a FPS point of view its not really that good. The multiplayer is limited and AI is a little weak. The one feature that STILL makes Doom2 better than this game is a coop option for the single player maps. That was the best thing the Xbox version of Halo did. Now if only I didn’t have to aim with a stupid analog stick... BAH!

I haven't picked it up yet. My computer is too slow I imagine. I am playing AVP and AVP2 a lot though. If its as creepy as AVP I'll definitely get it. thumbsup1.gif

I got scared of Luigies Mansion... this game is not for me.

Just for the record, I'd like to say that Delta Labs Section 4 literally made me want to vomit. It's nothing but dead bodies on the floors, blood COATING the walls with words of fear written into them, and zombies with chainsaws coming after you. Then, of course, there's the giant demons that fire BFG pulses from their hands.... eektf.gif

I'm not done yet, because of work and other commitments...

DOOM 3 is awesome, especially when everyone in my house is sleeping and im playing it in the wee hours of the morning....

My computer is decent, it averages 30 FPS, 20 during fights 10-15 when there's a lot of people/demons/bad guys on the screen
